A massive success

I was entitled to 4 free tickets for todays game, so i asked for them in the family stand as It's the only stand I've never been in. I then gave my season ticket seats to my sister in law and nephew.

I arrived pretty early with the family and was instantly feeling the buzz around the stadium. The traffic on the 2432, the nightmare parking, the retail area full of blue ( and some red), the stadium shop rammed with customers, program sellers were busy, turnstiles full, food outlets busy and the view from my seat was something i hadn't seen there in years!

Yes, the tickets were free, the atmosphere a little on the quiet side in the first half, and there were a few liverpool/manure/chelsea tops on display, but they still came, they still cheered and were rewarded with a win.

I clapped the team off at the end as i usually do, and because it took me ages to get out of the stadium, i missed the shuttle bus back to the city centre. But even an hour later there were families walking around with their brand new bluebird scarves, with their stadium store shopping bags full of merchandise, and the car parks still weren't empty!

I bet there was more money made today on parking, programmes, food and drink and merch than any other home game for 2 years.

The sun shone and we won!!

How many of these will return for the next home game, no one knows. That will be the true measure of todays success. But for now, well done Cardiff City Football Club.
