A forum for all things Cardiff City

Outside the ticket office, whilst people were queueing to buy tickets, people with spare complimentary tickets, were selling them for £10 each.
I am all for free enterprise but that is just taking the piss.
If you are given free tickets by the club to then sell them on when the club has given approximately 15,000 away for free is quite frankly shocking and disgusting.
Shame on those who did so.

Absolutely shameful of those who sold free tickets but full credit to the many fans who advertised them on forums and twitter for FREE...
Come on city lets have a great run in to the play offs

I'd hoped to take my two children aged 5 and 2 to their first city game today and was unaware of free tickets floating around because I live and work in London. I went to ticket office Thursday to purchase 3 tickets together in family stand but they didnt have any left. I'm a bit disappointed that as a paying customer the club could not accommodate me and my kids in the family stand.
I'd have loved to take them and gutted to have missed out especially given people were taking the piss by selling these tickets on. Not only is it wrong to sell on a freebie but they have also deprived the club of missed revenue from being able to sell these individuals their tickets at full face value.

LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM IN THE FAMILY STAND

In fairness not everyone works nine to five. Besids loads of folks travel for work. If i've got a meeting in Bristol or Bath etc I always try and tie it in with one in Cardiff so I can pop home for a night to see my folks.

Anyone who try's to sell a free ticket is just a cock! In my opinion. If you know these people then why entertain them. To be fair whoever mentioned making some cash because they are on average wage is obviously an absolute wankpuffin.

People on Facebook were selling 5 tickets together for £100!!!!

Surely you cannot be serious, fella? April 1st was on Friday!
I sincerely hope people (even out of desperation) weren't buying?
I travelled to pick up two 'freebies' from the ticket office (despite not being able to attend the game myself) and personally delivered them to the home of one of our Forum members who was away during the week and couldn't telephone the ticket office for work reasons
I was only too glad to help a fellow Forum member and actually got to meet his dad (another City fan and Forum member) who was a genuinely nice guy
Great to meet other Forum members and even better to know someone genuine could attend the game too!

When i was trying to give a single ticket away (for free may i add) there seemed to be a few guys trying to do the same thing. One guy said he had 3 on him but would still take it. We declined him.
so im shouting anyone want a spare ticket at random strangers. Then a older gentleman joined the back of the queue we wave a ticket in front of his nose and he accepts it on the spot.
It felt good giving the ticket to this guy. We won, the weather was great and we are closer to the playoffs. Nobody should be trying to make money from this. The club gave out a great gesture to the fans, not for people to try and cash in on it.

That was me, thanks for that. I kept rejoining the back of the queue and people were giving me tickets constantly.
Sold them all for £20 each

Cardiff City FC created the vacuum of free tickets for yesterday's game, I don't know why people are outraged they are being sold on. Yesterday was about getting a big attendance and you can't blame people for wanting a cheap ticket, nor should you blame other fans being given tickets for free and moving them on for a couple of pints or whatever.

What harm has it made to yesterday's game exactly? We won 2-1, got a massive attendance where the CCS looked good for a change, what people do with there tickets and cash is nobodies business but there own. I repeat, it was Cardiff City FC that create the vacuum of free tickets being available, nothing to do with the fans.
Sun Apr 03, 2016 9:13 am
I gave mine away free, but have no problem with ST Holders selling them for a tenner, there were that many going around outside for free, I'm surprised anyone paid even a fiver.
Sun Apr 03, 2016 5:43 pm
Absolutely disgusting.
I had for free tickets for front row, in the grandstand. I used 2 for family. Then I was looking around the stadium for 2 people on their own. So they could enjoy free front row seats not far from the half way. Thankfully I gave them to the most grateful man and child. He even offered money. I refused point blank. I said just enjoy the game.
When people are charging others from freebies. The club will soon stop it. They even say not for resale!! Also if I noticed someone had them free, I wouldn't even offer them money. Scum is the only word.
Sun Apr 03, 2016 5:44 pm
Four free tickets. Not for!!
Sun Apr 03, 2016 5:45 pm
A great gesture by the Club, and then some fans take the piss, I just hope some of the of the fans with free tickets come back for our next game so some good comes out of this. As for those so called fans selling their tickets, well hang your heads in Shame.

Some disappointing comments in this thread but I suppose we are all different and look at things from different perspectives.

Carl I totally agree with what your saying but always going to happen, I gave mine to friends and family and my daughter won two in the kick about challenge and gave them to a kid and that felt good. What I will say is that if your on the bread line and times are hard, can you blame them? Swings and roundabouts
Mon Apr 04, 2016 1:06 pm
some people saying that unemployed may need the tenner thats fair enough if they had paid for the tickets in the first place but they didnt they was handed out free to get more ppl through the door not for "unemployed" to make a few quid, money grabbing bastards!!
