The inevitable has happened. Sky Sports have offered Gary Neville his punditry job back, hours after being sacked as Valencia manager.

Neville was sacked on Wednesday after just four months in charge at the Mestalla and will now reportedly weigh up his options in the wake of Sky's offer.

The former Manchester United defender was highly respected during his time at Sky and was regarded as one of the channels most prized assets, with the likes of Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry joining the 41-year-old as pundits.

Sky want Neville to return to his old job but reports suggest that Neville will focus on the European Championships in his role as assistant before deciding whether to return to England.
