Tom Bradshaw

Mon Mar 28, 2016 8:06 pm

Tom Bradshaw looked more dangerous in his brief time on the pitch than Church and Vokes put together. We all know Church and Vokes are nowhere near good enough, so why waste the majority of our last two friendlies playing them?

Unlike Church and Vokes, Bradshaw actually looked a goal threat tonight against a Ukraine team who haven't lost a friendly since 2012 and only conceded 4 goals during their qualifying campaign. He's regularly scoring goals with Walsall and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we see him playing in the Championship.

If Walsall fail to go up this season, I would not hesitate to bring Tom Bradshaw to City, not just because he's Welsh, but because he's a good striker with a decent all round game who can score all different types of goals. Bradshaw not being properly considered by Coleman baffles me.

My thoughts precisely. I was looking forward to him getting most of the game to see what he can do.
He looked a threat and very keen when he came on.
Shame it now looks like the same old same old as our reserve strike.
Also not much point in putting Joe Ledley on as he will be going anyway.
I also think we have seen a lot of Johnie Williams - usually flatters to deceive. Nice touch etc etc but runs around a lot without much end product IMHO. Despite the comentators waxing lyrical, I think he is too powder puff - doesnt challenge correctly and spends half the timeon his arse.I would have have given at least 45 mins to George Williams as he has potential.

You can add Lawrence to the list of shite strikers we've seen in these two friendlies. He's been every bit as woeful as Church and Vokes.

Lawrence isn't an out and out striker like Church and Vokes though, I think we are playing Lawrence correctly and getting the best out of him on the wing. Church and Vokes are out and out strikers and both have shown time and time again that they're not quite up to a good enough level to lead the line for Wales.

Tonight, we started Simon Church, a striker who struggling MK Dons were happy to loan out to Aberdeen because they brought in Alex Revell in January, who pushed Church out of the team. How Coleman can start a striker who a poor Championship team were happy to get rid of ahead of Bradshaw, who's an in form, confident goal scorer playing just one league lower than Church, is baffling imo.

Tom bradshaw looks a good out an out striker something wales and ccfc are missing. Id like cardiff to sign him think he would do well here

More calls to sign players because they're Welsh.

Bradshaw impressed me tonight but Nicky Ajose has scored 21 goals for Swindon this year, same age as Bradshaw. He'd be a better signing.

Not cos hes welsh thats just a bonus. Looks like he got all the makings to be a quality championship striker. Hes scored goals consistently now over 2 seasons in league 1, nicky ajose has had one good season and bradshaw is younger than him too

Not exactly his fault. He draws players in, and they foul him. He got some terrible treatment from the Ukrainians last night.

Do we? Church isn't the best, I agree, but he did win the penalty on Thursday night. I know people will say 'yeah, so what?', but he came on and made an impact, at least.

To label Vokes as 'nowhere near good enough' is a bit OTT. He's in good form for Burnley this season, and it must be remembered that he had next to no service on Thursday night, and it was a similar story last night. He's an aerial threat, so why don't we make the most of it with crosses etc.?

I agree, if we had Vokes we would be top 2 instead of little Burnley?

Got to say if they are good enough would rather see a Welshman, but ajose would possibly come a lot cheaper and has a great eye for goal. How old is he?

I'll just remind people, Eoin Doyle scored 25 goals in League One.

Good to see Bradshaw come on last night but no chance he'll start ahead of Vokes or Church.

Vokes is a good striker and will score goals, but he didn't really get any chances. I'm not a fan of Church but not going to label him "nowhere near good enough". Bradshaw did well, but it was towards the end of the game and during our best spell of the match.

Very encouraging last night was, and I don't normally watch friendlies, despite the result.

Six months older than Bradshaw, scored 21 goals in a worse team compared to Bradshaws 15. I don't think we should sign either, if we want to go up next season we need to sign a proven striker at this level. Once we got that then we could take a risk on a League One striker.

Church and Vokes far too easy to mark at international level. No pace and no tricks. Vokes wins the odd header but that's not enough at this level. I'd take a chance on Bradshaw. Looks sharp and lively.

How much have people actually seen of Ajose or Bradshaw?

Not a lot I would suggest

They have both played plenty of times for Wales. Their goal ratios are poor. They offer little in my opinion. They play at a level where they are reasonably effective but at international level you need pace or a trick or two...they have neither.
Coleman will probably take them both as he is pretty loyal but Bradshaw for me showed a bit of promise. Personally I would gamble on that. Fingers crossed that Bale, Ramsey and Robson-Kanu stay fit for the whole tournament as well as Ashley Williams, Allen and Hennessey.
