Why are there a line of 3 wheeler cars on the touchline?

They were the original 'notability' vehicles and they were allowed to park on the touchline at Ashton Gate and Eastville (Bristol rovers ground) for many a year! ;)

My grandfather (a former Rovers player invalided after a bad tackle and a hip operation which in those days meant wearing a built up shoe on one foot) had one of those vehicles but I don't ever remember them being allowed into Ninian Park (although they might have been at some point) :ayatollah:

I've never seen the blue motability cars in Ninian Park, I don't think there was enough room on the touchline, but there used to be a load of wheelchairs allowed to sit on the touchline in the corner of the canton stand / grand stand. Health and Safety would have a field day now.

Barrie Jones is in the background of that picture, terrific winger for us he was, his career was cruelly cut short after a bad leg break at Blackpool.

Seem to remember Barrie Jones improvement came when Scoular moved him into central midfield, great for us until his leg injury that he sadly never recovered from
