What's your view on City's season so far? :ayatollah:

Much better than I expected.

Some friends have said they thought we'd go down, I didn't think we'd do that bad. But I expected us to be in the bottom half.

Very surprised by Slade, and will love it if we make the top six :ayatollah:

I think you were more surprised Ned when I said we will make the play offs back in October

Mason, at the very beginning of the season I thought an 8th placed finish was as high as I expected but as low as 13th weren't out if the question.

But within the first 5 or 6 games I recognised the improvement from last season and when we came to play Preston and Middlesbrough in the space of four days, I thought if we get 4 points from those two games then I believed a play off spot was on the cards.

Why those two games ?

I honestly don't know and I didn't think it would be four points from drawing against Preston and beating Boro either, I thought it would be the other way round but since then I have been optimistic of a play off place.

Never quite looked an automatic promotion side but it has been fine lines and tight margins and we were not far from being a top two side.

It's been decent and feels like a big corner has been turned. Club have made an effort off the field all year starting with kit launch and giant photo etc and have really done an amazing job with next years ST. On the pitch I've enjoyed it all year, not the prettiest at the start but they've built and built and put us within a chance of having a go at the playoffs. Leeds game was the best night down there for ages. For me I think the next 2 games make or break the season but either way it feels good again.

Mason, far better than I ever expected, in fact I thought we would be bottom 3 under Slade, even though the squad on paper looked good enough to be top 2.
I had No faith in Russell Slade, but as Ive previously said he's won me over :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

As I have said before, up until Bristol it was bad both on and off the pitch and I think we hit rock bottom as fans and many had simply had enough. Since then we have slowly progressed and in the last two months club has made huge strides, like somebody had a light bulb moment and started to listen. For me if we fail to reach the play offs then so be it, but I have connected again with the club and the foundations are in place for the future both on and off the pitch. Realistically only Matshall will leave, this side can only get better and if we do fail I think we will challenge once again next season. The future is good, it needs work granted but happy with season and excited for up coming games which couldn't be said not so long ago.

I posted a while back that when I look back on this season I will call it the "when Saadi is fit" season. There were so many posts stating that once Saadi recovers from injury we will have pace up front and will storm the division. Against Reading we saw a 20 minute cameo of what was possible.

Up till now the north African player with a welsh first name has not turned into the goal Messiah we all thought he would'

However, fate has intervened a couple of times already this season and may be the last 8 games (hopefully that is extended to 11) will finally flush out the long awaited promise

I've really enjoyed the season! And as many have said I thought we would finish 8th- 10th with a slightly worried lingering thought before a ball had been kicked that it could be a possible 11th -15th and our season would be over by February. But I've been pleased by our progress this season and as stated above really enjoyed the season as a whole. With some good displays home and away :ayatollah:

So much better than I thought! So many good things have happened!

1) The kit - Blue strip and badge back (Adidas sponsor too). :bluebird:

2) Financially - Long-term plan to be debt free by 2021. Profit of 3.8 million this year. :thumbright:

3) Players - Squad massively trimmed - got rid of all the egos, highly paid players, dead wood, as well as keeping some vital players (Marshall, Manga, Noone) :ayatollah:

4) League position - To remain competitive in and around the play-offs, style of football has improved (particularly better defensively).

5) Season tickets - Fantastic season ticket prices for the 16/17 season and some great deals for the remaining games of this season.

For the first time in a long time, I'm proud to be a Cardiff City fan again. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

No great teams in this league this season....a pity we couldn't be a little more consistent as we would be near the top .....but still 6th spot to go for....I see 6th as a superb season and 7 the as what I expected....not quite there..... :ayatollah:

Under performed, whether that's down to Slade or the players will be up to Tan to decide in the summer when Slade's contract comes up for renewal.
