O'KEEFE IS KEY NOW AND NEEDS A REST
Friday 25th March 2016
Stuart O'Keefe has transformed this Cardiff team from the base of midfield, adding crucial defensive balance and even popping up with the second goal in the Severnside derby.
But a little of the snap that has made him such a revelation looked to have been lost against Reading, with O'Keefe unable to really grab hold of the game in the way he has done recently.
That comes as no great surprise as tiredness could be creeping in..
Despite featuring in the league four times before the turn of the year, he has started each and very one of Cardiff's games since the 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury in the FA Cup.
It is no coincidence that his return has coincided with both an upturn in the Bluebirds' results and the quality of their football.
They need O'Keefe at his best to contain Burnley and Derby.
It is testament that he kept himself so fit during that prolonged exile from the starting XI, so a rest now is both welcome and well deserved.
