Am I the only one who sees little point in disrupting the most exciting stage of the football season with international matches NOW? Any player with a team challenging for honours is bound to be more concerned with his club than his country.
Does anybody think like I do, that it would have been better to continue with the league season now, finish it 2 weeks earlier so that the international sides could play an extra friendly or 2 at the end of the season before the Euros? I know its all money and TV rights these days, and I don't mind so much when World cup or Euro qualifiers are taking place, but was there really any need for this break now?
Just a thought.

totally agree. Aside from anything else, I would even want us to play our main side - certainly the game in Ukraine. People moan no Rambo or Bale, thank god for that! Why risk it

Yeah. Totally agree. And it's all a bit experimental, like playing Ward in goal. I'll be there tonight, but these friendlies should be after the season finishes.

Should be after season finishes like Home Internationals were.
Showing my age now those were the days long long ago.

Glad to see Pilkington has seen sense by getting a convenient injury whilst on duty for Ireland meaning he can't play tonight,

If nobody played friendlies, it wouldn't give other nations an unfair advantage. Personally I think it's time to end them.
