It was confirmed last night officially that Huddersfield Town have sold 11,000 seasons ticket in the first four days that they have been on sale.

This has already surpassed the amount of season ticket holders for this season and one of the main reasons for this was that the prices of season tickets which were slashed for the initial 10,000 fans. With prices set at just £179 for adults, £69 for 8-17 year-olds and £23 for Under-8s.

This incentivised approach gave season ticket holders the chance for renewal whilst at the same time providing the platform for returning Town fans or the next generation of Huddersfield fans to pick up a season ticket to watch cheap affordable football.

After 8,000 tickets were bought on the first day, it seemed that the 10,000 ticket target was going to be reached comfortably. Dean Hoyle has extended the discount deal for another 4,000 tickets and it seems that Huddersfield will comfortably have 15,000 season ticket holders.

Huddersfield has shown that to reward loyalty and treats fans as more than customers has led to the club having success in selling the tickets and it seems that the respect from the fans to the club has been reciprocated. With Huddersfield’s success, it could be the blueprint and model for fellow sides to follow in the near future.

With the raised awareness about extortionate ticket pricing in the Premier League and the Football League, Huddersfield is one of the clubs leading the way and rightfully getting the plaudits for doing so.

There is clear optimism and a feel good factor around the John Smith Stadium and they have built a platform off the field for the West Yorkshire to have success on the field.

A great response from their fan base , but would be interesting to see how many of those sold are the very cheap tickets.
If half are at the full rate , and the other half split equally between the two types of cheaper tickets , it would give them total season ticket money of well under £2m. It just shows that getting the balance right between bringing in more fans and balancing the books financially is a tricky job.

£179 that is superb.

We would sell the same I am absolutely sure of it.

Not knocking the club as they have reduced our prices and they should be applauded for that but personally my season ticket
went down from £419 to £369, its not that great is it?

If an adult could buy a season ticket for £179 I am absolutely convinced we would sell 15-20,000.

Well done Huddersfield Town

Certain clubs are finally starting to listen to fans and understand there importance. Hopefully the clubs will set a trend because 90% of ticket pricing in this country is disgusting

Season tickets are a drop in the ocean nowadays, there's plenty more lucrative revenue streams. Cheaper season tickets will results in more fans which means more merchandise sold as well as food and drink on match days.

Agree when you drop the price more fans will go for it, and the club will not lose out.

If our club put the prices at £179 for the season, we'd sell 20,000 comfortably imo.
