Academy 4 Crewe 0

Mon Mar 21, 2016 6:03 pm

Popped along to see the Academy at the Vale today. very good performance in a 4-0 win.
Rhys Healey scoring 2, Robbie Patten and Theo Wharton with the goals.
Sean Morrison played the full 90 mins and was very impressive.
Dikgacoi and Ameobi played 70 mins toughly.
Dikgacoi ran the game, very impressive. Ameobi was same old self it seemed. all the ability but not as much effort.
Jordan Blaise at the back did well next to Morrison, suprised how tall he was and very comfortable on the ball.
Healey impressive when given ant chance, certainly knows where the net is.
Tutonda was good at left back up and down the wing to.
Russell Slade watched from the balcony up till 70 mins when the Ameobi and Dik went off.
Chris Coleman watched the last 10 mins behind the goals being followed by the rest of the Welsh squad after the game. guessing the welsh squad was training after it.
thats 5 on the bounce for the u21s now, looking very good for them.
Kevin Nicholson doing a great job.
Makes you wonder why we aint using more academy boys instead of loan players, hopefully we will if the season closes out when playoffs are no longer available

thought id share my view on the game. good 50 spectators on the sideline

What I like about the u21s ,is mostly it does have development players in it and not just a bunch of overpaid reversed team players it can be used as today to give players returning from injury a good tin out too

Really hope Healey gets a chance with us at some time. Will be massive shame if he leaves us without being given a fair chance with the first team also nice to see my old teammate Theo Wharton score.

What's happened to Crewe? They had a fantastic youth set up with clear room for progress to first team football available.

It seems the youngsters prefer the bloated loan me out a thousand times route to having a season or two at Crewe
