Morrison in for manga?

Mon Mar 21, 2016 3:21 pm

While not everyones cup of tea, his partnership with connoly earlier in the season was very solid although it could be argued a lot was to do with the way we set up back then and a more expansive approach is now being taken. Would anybody bring him back in to replace Manga who I have to say has not filled me with much confidence of late. Clearly a top player, but now at the nitty gritty time is when players must step up to it.

For me, I would wait but any more mistakes and Morrison must be brought in. Thoughts ?

Agree. Neither centre half was especially great on Saturday but for me Manga offers us far more.

Having said that I wouldn't drop either of them at the moment - Morrison certainly looked very rusty when he came on against Bristol City so I wouldn't put him in instead of either Manga or Connolly currently.

Not a chance, Manga is twice the defender Morrison is, out of the three centre halfs I'd say Morrison is the worst.

I'd bring in Turner on one leg before Morrison. No pace, weak defensive heading and he loses concentration at some point in a game.

We have two CBs who have decent distribution in connolly and Manga, well compared to Morison and Turned anyway. May not be as solid at the back but has the football improved and our attacking play?

I've always liked Turner but don't see anything in Morrison other than the odd goal he pops up with.

Clearly not a fans favourite then.

Morrison isn't as bad as many on this forum make out. I've always preferred Manga with Connolly, but Turner is actually slower than Morrison and can only pass into touch diagonally....Not quite up to Lee Baddeley standard.

Connolly and Manga have these lapses of concentration at times bringing Morrison won't change anything they just need to learn to be more focused for 90+ minutes every game.

Connolly is our best defender from what I've seen, followed by Manga. For some reason our fans are often sympathetic to Manga and will talk him up even when he's played bad - the same is done with Fabio.

But they're both five times as good as Morrison. He's a liability.
