" THE LEX EFFECT "
Vital Cardiff
Monday 21st March 2016
A well known brand of deodorant goes with a similar slogan doesn't it but the impact of Lex Immers has been praised by Cardiff boss Russell Slade following the loanees goal on Saturday.
Ideally Cardiff wanted, maybe even needed, to go into the international break having secured a win over Reading but we had to be content with a one-all draw at the Madejski Stadium in the end.
Newcastle loanee Sammy Ameobi, who was brought on by Slade to have (arguably) his best impact for Cardiff so far created an opening for Immers with him heading us level in the second half to earn this point, after we had fallen behind to a first half Garath McCleary goal.
In his post-match conference, with these thoughts covered by the BBC, Slade has praised his impact not just for his goals but all-round performance.
'Lex has been terrific. He's contributed in terms of scoring but also in terms of performance and the energy he gives us. He's fitted in really well and his understanding of what is required as an individual and collectively is very good.'
The crossbar had denied Craig Noone before Reading scored with Slade, regarding the game itself, admitting we 'looked a bit fragile at the back at times' with improvement seen in the second half, finishing by saying.
'We got level and I thought we managed the game a lot better than we had done.'

Now and again a player emerges who is an absolute favourite with fans like myself. In the past this has been Paul Parry or Ross McCormack but Lex Immers is now up there with the best
