They will all be big guns and for me this was the weakest Championship for many many years, next season will be a lot tougher.

I think the opposite, Norwich a genuine yoyo team would be the most troublesome. Its a tough league and bouncing back is difficult.
Villa are shocking with lots of average players, Rudy is their striker for gods stake.
Sunderland - Ageing back 4 and i couldn't see Defoe being motivated for a season visiting Rotherham and Burton Albion.
Newcastle - Shelvey and Townsend with all their expensive young imports who thought Newcastles was a shop window won't fancy life in the championship, their fans make us look like appreciative angels. The Ashley saga needs to be played out as well.

Exactly will be a tough league next year.
And for the people who want slade to be rewarded with a new contract can you honestly see him getting us promoted next season

But usually clubs like Newcastle and Villa go straight back up and yes I agree Norwich would be up there as well.

These three teams will all spend big,we won't. We are a championship team, that's our league and we may as well except it. We haven't got the fan base any more and we are basically not big enough a club to establish ourselves with all the big boys in the PL who with next seasons money are all going to get bigger and bigger and stronger and stronger. Only the big championship teams such as the three mentioned plus big teams like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Wolves, Boro, Derby, Forest, Brum will be the big challenger. Money talks and we haven't got any I'm afraid

On paper, you'd have to assume that two of the three that come down will get the top two promotion spots. These are huge huge clubs that's could be coming down - possibly the biggest set of teams to get relegated since the PL started, in my opinion.
That said, football is a funny old game, and they could all struggle. Hell, Fulham could get relegated to League 1 this year - bet their fans would've thought you were taking the piss if you told them that 3 years ago.
If Big Sam is still at Sunderland next year, if they're relegated, you'd have to assume they'd be favourites to go up. Newcastle would have the best squad though, regardless of the key players they'd lose, so they could quite easily just batter the league like they did last time.
If we want to get up, this is the year to do it, because from 16/17 onwards things are going to get messy in the Championship...

Not that I've ever minded long away trips, but you can bet your bottom dollar that we will have midday or Tuesday fixtures with the Geordies, Mackems and Norwich if we play them. Villa's just up the road so a short one for that at least.

Think it'll take Villa longer than a season to get sorted to be honest. Wouldn't be surprised to see them closer to relegation than promotion.

V interesting. Think Villa would be there for the taking, the other 2 Id expect to be there or there abouts. When Newcastle got relegated first time they were head and shoulders above the rest of the championship IMO

It all depends if keep squads Ncastle did last time and ran away with it, but different scenario this time maybe new manager as well so wouldn't right off the championship next season just yet!

Villa are a massive re-building job, Newcastle may well fall foul of FFP unless they ship a whole lot of their top earners out, not as clear cut as it looks on paper !!

If Newcastle go up first time of asking, FFP won't hit them anyway will it?

A lot depends on who their managers will be,Newcastle wouldn't have Rafa and Remi will prob be sacked by Villa!
You just can't see Sunderland or Norwich sacking their managers if they go down as they got promotion Championship experience.
Big decisions by the clubs that go down.
Villa,Sunderland and Norwich for me.

Opposite for me up here, Newcastle and Sunderland are closest games for city so hoping they both go down!

Always tough and big guns or not you will face 3 sides that were in the Prem last season. Newcastle and Sunderland should challenge but only one will do. Villa will do well to finish mid table, they r truly awful big gun or not. We know ourselves the difficulties in turning things around. These sides also have to deal with the pressure of being shot at each week.

Who says we are going to be playing them next season?

Every season is, I'm looking forward to going to villa though

Sunderland if they stick with Big Sam will be thereabouts
Villa and Newcastle would both be in disarray if they got relegated...new managers needed, massive wage bills, playing wanting to leave etc etc
Both Villa and Newcastle could really struggle

We get the same posts every year - this year the championship is weak but next year it's going to be tough
Wed Mar 23, 2016 8:07 am
These teams are a lot bigger than others think it's going to be really tough next year huge financial power they will have
Wed Mar 23, 2016 6:15 pm
With all these big clubs coming down we should get good odds on the City
