Inside Cardiff City understands Cardiff City have released young full-back Jazzi Barnum-Bobb 19 months after he made his first team début for the club in a Capital One Cup tie against Coventry City.

We have been told by sources that the Bluebirds have released young talent Barnum-Bobb despite the former Watford full-back making two first team appearance last season. The 20-year-old was signed by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his release by Watford in 2014.

The pacey full-back made his Cardiff City début in a 2-1 away win over Coventry City in the Capital One Cup last season and made a second senior appearance in the 2nd round of the competition, the Bluebirds winning 3-2 at Port Vale on that occasion.

Barnum-Bobb spent the early part of this season on loan to Newport County where he played 14 times and his short-term loan spell was extended. Inside Cardiff City also understand current Newport boss Warren Feeney has been alerted to Barnum-Bobb’s situation.

Following his return from the Exiles, Barnum-Bobb featured heavily in the Bluebirds’ under-21 development set-up but with his contract due to expire in the summer, he has reportedly been told his future lies elsewhere.

The club have not yet confirmed Barnum-Bobb’s departure.

If you look at our full-back options then this decision is even more mysterious. Basically we have Peltier, Fabio, Malone and John. I think Fabio is out of contract this summer and I doubt he will resign on very much reduced wages. Therefore an opening is there as back up.

Maybe if Fabio moves on we will see more of John then so Jazzy would still have struggled to break into the side in text year or so so it was deemed worth letting him go?

From what I saw I liked the kid and i'm sure he'll get picked up sooner rather than later

Question is would you drop anyone to play him? Answer NO can only have chance if better than other players in team.
