Need an op on my ankle and the club would not pay for it so no point me being there I'll be out for 3 months

He's on Alloa's books.

Alloa are a small club. I would imagine that they cant afford it rather than they won't pay it.

Used to love chops, was probably my favourite prayer for a long time. Bit the stories of his gambling, checking his phone at half time etc just made me think what a joke.

I loved Chops as a player but like you Luke lost a lot of respect for him when we heard about the gambling that affected his performances, borrowing money from fellow players cause he was skint and partying in Hereford and until early hours before the Barnsley home game which he pulled a hamstring.

Spot on. This poor me bollocks is cringeworthy, he should be minted with the career he's had and the clubs he played for, was certainly talented enough to play at Premier League level for more seasons than he did too. Shocking that he's even fallen to the very very low levels of Alloa.

I prefer that City kit Chops is wearing, it's more joyful :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Alloa are no bigger than any league of Wales club no wonder they wouldn't pay for operation but like a lot on this board I lost respect for chopra because of his gambling and drinking exploits we saved his career twice when he was good did a good job for us but I still put Robert earnshaw well ahead of him

Loved Chops but we shouldn't have resigned him the second time. Putting aside Ridsdale lending the transfer fee at 50% interest it meant that Ross McCormack wasn't first choice anymore and we now know how good he turned out to be.

I know an Ipswich supporter who told me when he signed there were serious looking people turning up at their training facility looking for said individual...worrying, it is a real problem within football.

Very good point, McCormack was brilliant, blocking such an asset from getting first team action was just plain daft :ayatollah:

Chopra had gambling issues, McCormack had alcohol issues. Chopra was never really able to get a handle on his issues, whereas McCormack seems to have learned from his mistakes (drink driving conviction). Interesting that McCormack has never made it to the Premier League though, so perhaps we are looking back with rose tinted glasses and he prefers to be a big fish in a small pool.
