" AN ANXIOUS WAIT FOR RUSSELL SLADE "

Tue Mar 15, 2016 7:34 pm

CAPTAIN DAVID MARSHALL AND PETER WHITTINGHAM

Both men remain doubtful for Saturday and are being given time to recover over the next few days. Staff at the club will reassess their situation further on Thursday when they expect to get a clearer picture of whether Marshall and Whittingham have a chance of making the trip to the Madejski Stadium. It is thought they may need late fitness tests closer to the match itself, an anxious wait for boss Russell Slade.

Simon Moore is on stand-by should Marshall not recover in time whilst Tom Lawrence, who was rested by boss Russell Slade for the Ipswich game, and Sammy Ameobi are in line to step in should Whittingham not make it.

Could really do with them both back.

I get worried whenever an attacker goes towards Moore and we look so much more comfortable with Whittingham.
