" RUSSELL SLADE IS A HAPPY MAN "

Mon Mar 14, 2016 2:57 pm

Russell Slade says he was grateful for the response of the fans following the game the Ipswich game and in recent matches, because he knows the club have had a difficult time of it of late and of course his own stock amongst the fan base hasn't exactly been high either since he came into the job.

'I`m delighted if the fans are behind me, it`s fantastic. Since I`ve been here, it`s been a question of trying to win fans over and just work hard. We`ve done that. We`ve got a unity in the dressing room. The fans have responded to that, and I do appreciate that. I know how keen they are to be in the top-six and in the shake-up to get back to the Premier League again. It`s been a test of character and our desire in what has, at times, been a difficult season. We`ve nine games left and we have an opportunity still.'

I’ve not always been a Slade fan, as a person he’s genuinely a lovely knowledgeable man but I’ve doubted his ability as a manager in this league however slowly but surely he’s winning me over, I’d love to see Slade take us to the play offs and win it, it would be such an astounding achievement.

Hats off to you Russ, you’ve come in, got rid of the rot, settled the ship and guiding it to calmer shores :bluescarf:

Not sure he is tactically good enough to get us promoted and I think he stumbled upon our new formation because he had no strikers or options left

However, I think there is a definite unity and togetherness in the squad at present and he deserves praise and congratulations for that definitely
