" NINE CUP FINALS/AND CARDIFF CITY NEED YOU "

Sun Mar 13, 2016 7:26 pm

We have around nine cup finals now to take us to the top six. Three more as well to then get promoted :ayatollah:

Sunday 13th March 2016

But Cardiff City need the fans more than ever to help get us over the line.

We are one point off the play-offs and have lost twice at home in the league all season. But for some strange reason we had less than 10,000 in the stadium yesterday. I don't like the rugby excuse, because the rugby was in London. I can't believe people would rather stay in their house or go to the pub to watch something on TV, instead of actually watching Cardiff City live.

We didn't seem to have any problem attracting crowds when we were playing Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Swansea?

So, providing you are able to go and can afford it, help Cardiff City reach the top six by being there :ayatollah:

There are just nine games left and games are coming thick and fast.

Reading away is next and Carl will be running a coach. Cheap ticket and coach prices for this one viewtopic.php?f=2&t=170187 :ayatollah:

We have four home games, two of them against two of our biggest rivals in Derby and Birmingham. Buy your tickets now and you will get a better price than if you bought the day before the game :ayatollah:

Also crucial away games at the likes of Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday. Carl is running coaches to our next three away games viewtopic.php?f=2&t=170171 :ayatollah:

So come on Cardiff City fans, support the team and then anything is possible :ayatollah:

What makes you say there were less than 10k there ?

That would mean over 5k season ticket holders not attending.

Given we've got appx 10k season ticket holders then what this would say is over half didn't turn up.

I just don't believe that.

Because the Ground was empty, and most were watching Wales and couldn't be assed to turn up IMO :bluescarf:

I do.

In the second half especially we were all saying just how empty it looked. Canton stand looked empty, especially compared to Tuesday night. The club announced the same attendance as Tuesday and it wasn't even close.

So yes, I do believe there were less than 10,000 there.

Of course you do, but you are quoting it as if it's fact.
So where does this figure come from ?

I was there on Tuesday and yesterday and believe fans were watching the egg down the local boozer or in the house, there can't be any other reason not to turn up

So you really believe that over half our season ticket holders didn't turn up ?

Really ??

To be fair, I probably worded that wrong. I mean I find it strange that people would rather watch sport on the TV than actually be at a game on their doorstep.

I didn't say it was a fact and I have already said that looking around the stadium it looked like under 10,000 to, not only myself, but most of the people I were with. Clearly you have a different opinion.

Has to be down to England v Wales on TV. There was a decent attendance at the Leeds game on Tuesday and surely the Derby game will improve numbers at home, I hope so...

But you did quote is as fact - look at the post, you said 'there were less than 10k there'.. Not 'it looked like..,'
Annis has done the same.
You'll now find that people will take that as fact.

My different view isn't based on what it looked like, but the idea that over half the season ticket holders preferred to stay in the pub and watch the rugby isn't logical.
Sure there were some- a mate of mine was in Twickenham, but nowhere near half.

By the way, I don't think underestimating the crowd is going to bring back lost fans- more like put them off !

Anyone remember when we played Arsenal home the same day Wales played Australia in the Millennium?

We had a full house that day so I'm struggling with the rugby excuse myself, you could see the difference yesterday whatever the reason though

One of the things is we got shit on by the club because some loyal supporters couldn't get tickets for the premiership season and some have not gone back even though we have gone back to Blue and they won't when Tan is there it's not my opinion it's what I've heard of loads of the old die hards but instead of arguing if it was stated that it was 10000 or guessed let's just get behind the team. The headline of this thread says it all

I haven't underestimated the crowd, so now danger in that.

You seem to be having a right old moan today about a couple of threads, clearly having a bad day.

I agree with you, focus on getting behind the team with as many fans as possible.

I won't defend the club on many things, but they always said in lead up to the Premier League season that if you wanted to be at the games, your best option is getting a season ticket as games will be in high demand.

Not having a bad day at all.
I'm just disputing this one point in 2 separate threads about the crowd.
The figure stated is suggesting HALF OUR SEASON TICKET HILDERS DIDNT TURN UP.

To me that is just ridiculous.

We want fans to come back but then say the footy is so crap that half the season ticket holders didn't come to the game.
Anyone reading that is hardly going to be inspired.

That's on top of 18 months where many fans have been moaning about atmosphere, manager, tactics , quality of football etc..,

If I was a floater is be more likely to come back if I read that the team and fans were giving it a go and that the supporters were positive and backing the manager and team to the hilt.

Is it just me ?

Tim, I was also personally told there was under 10,000 in attendance and I was there and to me it actually looked like it as well.

I Agree with the headline, in fact great headline :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I have no idea where you've been for the last couple of months, but the majority of this forum has all been positive. There has been hardly any negativity towards the manager or the football for quite a while now.

Saturday's game was scrappy, as I described it, but that's not being negative. You will get scrappy games anywhere, even if you're fighting to win the Premier League.

Re: " NINE CUP FINALS/AND CARDIFF CITY NEED YOU "

Mon Mar 14, 2016 2:02 pm

I think it's fair to say there were far less fans at CCS on Saturday than there were on Tuesday even though the official crowd figures were similar.

If you take away the 10000 ST holders that means for both games there was a walk up of 5000! If we take away 1000 away supporters then it still means we are getting 4000 walk up supporters.

Not an amazing amount but certainly an encouraging amount especially if these walk ups are converted into ST's for next season.
