" TO ALL MY PART-TIME RUGBY FRIENDS "

By VINCE ALM

To all my part time rugby fans out there who are feeling a bit down losing to the old enemy!
Come and support Cardiff in the last couple of home games against Derby, QPR, Bolton, and Birmingham in a competition that actually means something for the price of one six nations ticket in the principality stadium
Six nations is a second rate competition for the also rans in Rugby. It is also the only competition that a Northern Hemisphere team can win but when it really counts in the world cup they come nowhere even Argentina have overtaken 6 nations teams.
Get yourselves down the football and support your club and your country in a proper competition in June.

Agreed, better off without the second paragraph. This will put rugby fans off if anything.

Paulh, This is Vince Alms post, you seem to really be getting upset quickly today as usual

But I do admit I can't stand the egg :D

I can't understand why a city fan would choose to stay home or go to the pub, rather than see city play at home, surely they wouldn't pay extortionate ticket prices to go to Twickers would they?

I think vinces comments will probably do the opposite of what he set out to do. Why insult others they could say championship is second rate competition if that's just restricted to the uk. If you included the whole world like vince has then I doubt in would get in the top 15 in the world.

It's a shame it came across as bitter by him I doubt he meant it to.

I do watch wales rugby but only if it's doesn't stop me watching the bluebirds :-)

I'll explain one scenario.

I take my daughter and her friend down the city, I have two other mates who depending on work and child care also attend. For the six nations we all try to meet up with the rest of our friends who have are city fans in the weakest way, they check the result text me when thing are going well or badly and want tickets for a biggie. Only one of my mates is really a rugby boy, the rest just go to meet up, i am talking about a pub, not attending a game.

On our christmas piss up i said i couldn't see me missing any of the six nation games as i'll miss the one game that clashed as its shit down the city. Since the depths of Shrewsbury its picked up, but if we were in a mid table position i would have missed it for an all dayer with my mates.

I am not sure many really believe in the revival, i never, we were 6 points off 6th now it GD and 3 points away from 5th. I am expecting a decent crowd for Derby as our part timers may return

It 100% did as I posted two topics that he wrote himself and said they were Vince Alms

Vince Alm is a very strange person, as is made clear by this post. If he is the official representative of the Supporters Club, it's time he acted like it.

Scotland Rugby have had a generally torrid time over the last 10yrs or so with results but still manage to fill their stadium with passionate fans.If I was thinking of comming down the city for the first time I would be put off by an attitude of the OP and his cronies. When are they gonna get the message-IT IS REALLY f*cking CHILDISH AND EMBARRASSING.Are you really trying to attract new fans with your welcoming attitude.

I just don't get this anti-rugby or anti-Wales rugby thing on this forum - why waste your energy on disliking something so bad you have to write about it all the time.

What's even weirder is someone thinks having a pop at what someone else is doing is the way to persuade them to stop doing it and come down the City.

I support both - I was at Twickenham on Saturday. I am proud to be Welsh, and as with our football team will always support them as best I can.

Slagging people who like the rugby is really counter-productive; be careful you don't be thought of as those who also slag off the Valleys.

We are far more powerful together, not slagging people off - I don't need anyone telling me I'm a tosser for supporting my country thanks, just as I don't need anyone telling me I'm a tosser for supporting the City since 1968.

Well said mate,I'd like to add if I was an outsider looking in at was thinking about going down for the first time, one look at this forum and I'd think better of it.And for the record I was a rugby player who was bitten by the bug in 1973 but as my cock is massive anyway I don't have to worry about making childish comments about other sports.

You're spot on with your post, there were dozens of fellow City fans in my local watching the rugby on Saturday. It's their choice, as it is mine, if I want to go and watch the Bluebirds, I will. If I want to watch Rugby I will, I went to watch Ystrad Rhondda Rugby first, then the pub and had a great day out, made all the better when I saw we'd won 1-0. I'm not a glory hunter or a so called plastic, and neither are the people I was with!
