Will Cardiff City make the play-offs?

Most of Media Wales are Saying No including the Head of Sport.

Will they make the play-offs?

I don’t think this particular vintage is good enough to make the play-offs, under Slade, but I’m ready and willing to see my expectations exceeded.

At least I’m enjoying the ride again and that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day. I’m looking forward to the next game again and the one after that.

We don’t know what the future holds and knowing Cardiff City, there will probably be further turmoil.

If supporters are united, nothing seems quite so daunting though. There are wounds to heal, bridges to build and that will take time, but the applause on Tuesday night was probably for the team and the club as a whole. If they both continue in this vein, there will plenty more in the future.

This guy don't have post some pap but probably spot on, we can do it but his reference to enjoying the ride again is spot on. In the last 3 weeks we have played the best football in years against BHA, got a derby win and the fans have found their passion again. Long way to go but last night just felt right and strangely meant more to me than the result.

tbh annis i think we will be couple points at least short, for simple reason out of 10 games we have to play 4 teams above us plus ipswich! dont think will get enough victory's to give us top 6 finish. :old:

We have as much chance as anybody, have the Wales media ever predicted anything good since Slade took charge?

I think we could go up but...are we strong enough or ready to stay there...i dont think so yet,for starters we need to be holding onto our young talent and having a good foundation there first.... :bluebird:

Go for it, that's my motto! Yes we can do it, no fear. We have a team that finally plays some good football and scraps, and thats all us fans want, is players that try!

The only sure-fire prediction I can make is that MediaFails will continue to produce absolute guff about us.

I think there is little difference between all the clubs in the mix for auto or play-off positions. What has separated those teams is basically luck. We had some good fortune against Preston (with 2 penalties) and by that I mean that they WERE penalties and were given, unlike the other night when a bang on penalty was denied.

We have also been unlucky on several occasions this season with poor refereeing decisions the one at Birmingham springs to mind as a classic example.

If as everyone claims these things work out over a season then on the run in we are due some good fortune. If we get it we will make the play-offs at the very least.

Its a time where being lucky is more important than being good!

Of course the flip side of that is that if we do get there we will have beaten 2/3 of the teams we are likely to meet in the playoffs so will be there with sky high confidence....

Strangely I can see us being full of confidence after the way we played against Leeds even though we lost as it was almost universally acknowledged by everyone (except for Steve Evans - but he talks about himself in the third person which is a genuine sign of madness in my opinion) as a great dominant performance despite being a man short for half an hour.

We are gaining momentum and in a great position - lets hope we make the most of it :thumbright:

There is nothing that excites TRUE supporters more than when there is something to play for.

I am lucky enough to photograph many sides and listen to the songs of many supporters. Man City - Playing for Europe - Supporters always singing. Villa - Done two of their matches recently. Sing start to finish and take the pi$$ out of themselves really enjoying themselves in the process etc etc

Then there is Stoke City. I did there game with Villa and it wasnt until the 83rd minuted that they sung "delilah". Trouble is they know they are not top 4 and they know they are not going down. Nothing to play for.

At least being in a promotion or relegation battle makes it interesting for supporters.

Paul, you are right and (some will see this as ironic) some of my best days following Cardiff City FC were back in the days when we appeared in a permanent battle either at the top or bottom of any given Division (rarely in the middle ground) and this is borne out by my memories of nearly 40k inside Parc Ninian for a promotion games against Hereford United and Wrexham

I used to love the atmosphere of the evening games in particular and I have rarely seen that repeated (day or night) in recent years; the Leeds FA Cup match probably being the nearest thing! :ayatollah:

Personally I think we will fall short by a few points but getting to play at Wembley again would be great for our younger or new players but even if we got to the final it would have to take a stroke of genius or good fortune to beat the team that we would play especially if it's who's in 3rd position at the moment. I've had enough heartache at Wembley over the last few years Blackpool being the worst so I'd rather us see what happens at the end of the season and go for it next year or just win it this year I don't think I could take another bad day up there lol :bluebird:
