Sammy Ame-noplay today, nor play next week nor the next.........

This thread is solely focussing on how much he has played as a starter in his career to date

has made 11 starting appearances this season (2015-16)
16 starting appearances (2014-15)
6 starting appearances (2013-14)
13 starting appearances (2012-2013)
1 starting appearance in the (2011-12)

Ref: http://www.espnfc.com/player/158142/sam ... eason=2015

At 23 years old he has only managed 47 starting appearances.

Joe Ralls, a year younger at 22 years old has made 35 starting appearances this season alone, only 12 less than what Ameobi has managed his entire career.

The ultimate luxury player, my opinion is that he's not concerned if he plays or not. His health problem would of been noticed years ago if he was serious about starting games and trying to play more than the 15mins he has grown accustomed to.

i dont like ameobi, but comparing the games played against ralls is a little pointless, hes been at a premier league club for a start

I find it remarkable that a 23 year old footballer has never managed to play a whole season of football as a starter. Yes, progress does get blocked at elite level. I question the way his career has been handled by his agent. Or cynically, perhaps his agent just milking the fact he's an PL academy graduate that's really not very good :laughing6: Less games the better £££££££££

Let me expand my thinking, Sammy Ameobi as a Premiership registered player earns more money than trying to earn a living in the lower leagues (where he belongs), he has signed a new contract with Newcastle UTD before leaving on loan, his agent knows what he's doing

Cardiff City CEO Ken Choo said: “We’re delighted to have Sammy on board, having hand-picked him specifically for his creativity and skill.

“Sammy has Barclays Premier League experience to the tune of more than 50 top-flight appearances. We will continue to search for the right players who have specific skill sets and good character.”

Every club makes bad signings, it's not a dig. Just wanted to point out the difference between starting and getting 5mins at the end. 50 top-flight appearances sounds wonderful doesn't it

I agree, look at the state that club is in! Handing out contracts willy nilly to average players must have a knock-on effect.

Ameobi is not going to be pissed he's not playing, he's not pushing the 1st team Newcastle players to fight for the jersey. It looks like incompetence soon catches up with clubs. Bye bye Newcastle

my point is Ameobi's value is higher when registered as a Premier League footballer (that status coming to an end). Agent and player never wanted to sign at a football league club permanently.
