I have always said

That I don't mind losing if we go down fighting. When we were playing without passion, boring football and coming away with a draw or a drab 1-0 win I really felt this ain't for me.
And so our game with Leeds last night, we lost 2-0 but we had passion and excitement, we had controversy, and we had a bit of an atmosphere and I loved it. :D  How we lost is any ones guess but I'm glad I stayed to the final whistle and gave the players a well deserved standing ovation as did the rest that stayed. Yes we lost but tonight for a change the Club was winners. Hope they can keep this up because we will win more than we will loose.

Bloody good comment, exactly wat I thought.

Agree with that.

The atmosphere wasn't brilliant, but better than we've had recently at home by far. With similar noise on Saturday, and a similar performance from the team, we have a good chance.

Agree it's good to see the players fighting, as they did tonight - even at 2-0 for the last couple of minutes.

I was worried that players like Immers wouldn't be passionate or be fighters, but he's one of our best in that sense now. Not the most technically gifted player we've ever had, but never stops. Hope we can keep him.

Great analogy, Nukes!

A great game once the atmosphere got going all around the ground and I have to say the Canton Stand was outstanding for 96 minutes tonight! :ayatollah: :notworthy:

Thing is Chris what can happen when the players show a bit of heart. Pity Wayne Nash is still in a job because he is still doing his best to shut us up. Still fans being harassed last night by the Stewards. For being drunk ? No for being abusive ? No. For standing at the very back and supporting the team ? Yes , Not blocking anyone's view. Grown people being told to sit down its demeaning.
But not down hearted about the result last night that's football. It just bugging me how we lost as Leeds were shite but there keeper was inspired, the best goalkeeping show I have seen in a long time. It's crazy I haven't enjoyed a game so much in years and I was gutted we didn't win and I haven't felt that in years either.

Yes, I saw the Stewards at their worst last night, which is sad as some of them are usually tidy people. Wayne Nash is increasingly a 'spoiler of atmospheres' and I mentioned that in another thread after the Bristol City game!

I'd like to think we'll now get a similar atmosphere going for Ipswich (not an easy game) on Saturday but (sadly) we know the rugby will have a massive effect as the "must be somewhere/anywhere important" crowd disappear into the city centre drinking establishments!

I like the rugby (to a point) but not enough to miss a City game...win, lose or draw! :ayatollah:

sven im the same, and pretty much everyone on the forum will be, but talking about 15 thousand people, a lot of them will like both sports, and will choose the rugby over this one game

What time is the Thugby on ? Hope those who went last night will come back for more, I'm looking forward to seeing some more passion. And it was mentioned above when the final whistle went the players heads went down then they saw the fans reaction and you could visibly see there heads rise again. Don't know about you lot but I want MORE MORE MORE. If we lose we lose but hope fans don't choose the Wife and girlfriend beating sport over the City.

Sure it's 4m kick off for the egg shit. So won't have many walk ups on Saturday. But as long as we all come together like last night and players perform the same. We can generate the atmosphere to match :ayatollah:

Someone in the Sand Martin last night who said they're coming to watch the first half of the City match and then leaving at half time to watch the rugby on TV

Said similar on a different post, the occasion and what happened Tuesday meant more than the result. Not sure how that is, but that's how I felt and glad others felt same. I felt part of it all again United as one
