I think we can safely say that Aston Villa are down, but who will join them? Norwich,Sunderland or Newcastle.
I'm going for Norwich and Newcastle.

I suspect you're right. Norwich in dire form, and at this point I just wish they'd stop even getting promoted to the Premiership as they offer it bugger all.
Big Sam will keep Sunderland safe.

I genuinely thought Newcastle would stay up, but can't see it now. McClaren has failed.
I would now say Villa, Norwich, Newcastle.

Same mate. £50 million spent on players, first time they've actually committed proper money for players in years, and yet they still messed it up.
Ashley's regime is going to have two relegations on its record. Insane for a club that big.

What exactly is the problem at Newcastle? Is the fans' biggest gripe to do with lack of spending on players (before January), or poor managerial appointments? What is it?

Both, I think.
The fans genuinely hated Alan Pardew, and then when they finally forced him out got given John Carver, then Steve McClaren - hardly inspiring.
As for transfers, they keep raiding France when you could argue that the ONLY successful signing they've made with that policy was Cabaye. Combine that with a club policy to sign players with the intention of selling them on, and I think you'd come to some logical conclusions about what is causing supporter unrest.
Funny thing is, I think they did great business in January. Shelvey and Townsend would've been quality summer signings, but neither can influence such a shit performing team mid-season, in my opinion.

Exactly.
They are one of the biggest clubs in Emgland and they're a mess. If Ashley ever goes, they still have potential to be huge again. For a club that size, they should be top eight at least year after year.
Newcastle fans are brilliant, and actually very friendly. Remember being up there in 2014 on the day we got relegated from the Premier League and they were very kind. Said hope we get back there soon and that both out owners were gone soon. Who knows, we could be swapping places at the end of the season?
As for Villa, not as big as Newcastle but still a big club. They're an even bigger mess and will be towards the bottom of the Championship next season.
