We currently sit in 8th position, and three points off the play-offs.
Following Birmingham's win last night, they are two points above us in 7th and we will have played a game more than them after tomorrow's game. Other than them, Hull and Middlesbrough, all the other teams above us will have played the same number of games.
Here is the current top 9, and their next three fixtures. Only two games for Hull and Birmingham, as we'll count last night's game in the same period:
Burnley 65 - Blackburn (h), Fulham (a), Huddersfield (a)
Hull 64 - MK Dons (h), Forest (h)
MIddlesbrough 64 - Wolves (h), Rotherham (a), Charlton (a)
Brighton 63 - Preston (a), Sheff Wed (h), Reading (h)
---------------------------------------------
Derby 57 - Huddersfield (h), QPR (a), Rotherham (a)
Sheff Wed 55 - Rotherham (h), Brighton (a), Forest (a)
Birmingham 54 - Blackburn (a), Wolves (a)
Cardiff City 52 - Bristol City (a), Leeds (h), Ipswich (h)
Ipswich 51 - Forest (h), Bolton (a), Cardiff (a)
I think we can disregard the top four as even Brighton in 4th are eleven points above us. So that would leave the three teams above us as well as the one below us.
We are fortunate that in these three games we have two home games, and we have to take advantage of that. You may say Ipswich at home is a tough one.
But in reality, you'd expect Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich to win this weekend. Therefore if we lost, the likelihood is we'd be six points off the play-offs and in 9th place.
Now bearing in mind the two games after this weekend, do you feel tomorrow is a must win game?
On the flip side, I think if we win tomorrow then we have a great chance of getting nine points out of this period.

I think, it's a definite must not lose game. And to be honest if we are to pose a threat to the playoffs then it is a must win game.

a lot of if and and buts in your post.
i dont like calling games must win, end of the day if we lose tomorrow but will all our remaining matches we will be in the playoffs.

Bristol are a funny side, losing games one minute and then playing suberbly the next.
We are so inconsistent so anything can happen.
Manga and Connolly need to be on top of their game and hopefully Lawrence will find the net

Agree because there are a couple teams chasing the top 6 and dropping points now puts more pressure on us!

Of course there is, but there always has to be plenty of ifs, buts and a bit of luck in any team in 8th place wanting to make the play-offs at this stage of a season.
As for your answer, fair enough. Just trying to get people's opinions

Like most teams in the championship this season, very inconsistent. That's why we're up there!

For me its a must win as its a derby match and if we did win it would be one of the most important results of the season so far. Looking at the next 3 games if we can get 7 points that would be a good haul. We need to get back to back wins to gain momentum so lets hope we can do it. I think we will win 2-1 and that will set up us nicely for dirty Leeds on Tuesday.

Back to Back wins thats what we needed. Crazy saying lose to bristol and then win the rest it dont work that way, You have to win to stay in the mix. Well done Cardiff and the travelling support.
