Swansea seem to be in a spot of bother currently. They resemble the Cardiff team during the relegation season. Riding their luck until late-on (with the help of a good goalkeeper), to be beaten by the inevitable winning goal. Season defining three games for them after the trip to Arsenal.

Aye and if memory serves its against their fellow strugglers so no excuses for them.

There are 3 worse teams than them so I think they will survive but only just.
Theyve got a difficult last 6/7 games on paper so after they play Arsenal theyve got 3 make or break games against Bournemouth, Norwich and Villa and they will probaby need at least 6 points from.

Massive result tonight and with Newcastle losing we have a little more breathing space. Another win saturday and it could br 9 clear.
I said it a few months ago that Newcastle will go down with Norwich and Villa. Big Sam will keep Sunderland up, Mclaren will bottle it. No team with Newcastle and Norwich's goals against figures can expect to stay up.

Not been on here since October have you? Coincidence you're on now that you've got a decent result? No! LOL
Having said that, a great result (as someone who has more empathy for Spurs than The Arsenal) and one that certainly relieves the pressure with games against your fellow strugglers coming up!
I've said previously I don't believe you'll go down, as much as I'd like it to happen!

Would love for you to go down obviously, but in reality it was never likely. That's even more the case after tonight's win.
Disagree about Newcastle. Obviously Villa are gone, and I do think Norwich will join them but I think that third team will be Sunderland. Allardyce has a great record, but perhaps he was always fighting a losing battle there.

Sunderland are staying up under big sam, no doubt about it. They signed some great players. Tonight game for the Jacks was a nothing game they have bigger fish to fry on Staurday. The fact they went on and won it was huge for them, massive shock. Still life in the old Swan yet.
Villa, Norwich and Newcastle down. Although I can see Bournemouth getting sucked in again.

Villa, Norwich and Newcastle down. Although I can see Bournemouth getting sucked in again.
Agree there mate. I wouldn't want Steve Mclaren in a relegation battle and Big Sam has been here many times before. Newcastle didn't spend on their defence in the last window which was something they needed to do. So glad they took Shelvey off our hands, we made a profit and we got one decent season off him. Now he is making the same mistakes at Newcastle and as we say in these parts, "The Swansea curse" is in full effect. Before him it was De Vries, Sinclair and Pratley, all 3 wish they had stayed on and look at them now!
The upcoming Newcastle v Sunderland game will have a massive bearing for the losers as dropping 3 points and those above them winning will drop them right into it.
I think Bournemouth will be fine, Palace on the other hand could be in a little bit of bother if results don't pick uo.
Expecting a tough game Saturday as Norwich are fighters so wouldn't surprise me if they beat us or we draw then get a result against Liverpool a few weeks later. It's the Swansea way!

What is it with Pardew? He's akin to a genius for the first year or so (nearly got Newcastle into the Champions League, and got Palace dreaming of Europe for a while), and then results go to shit. Don't understand it at all!
