Wolves, why so much sky coverage?

Sun Feb 28, 2016 7:24 am

Just been searching sky live to see if we have any live coverage coming up and noticed wolves have 2 more games they were on yesterday and are on next Friday. They've actually had more coverage on sky this season than when we were in the prem anyone know why or how they delegate games as seems wrong as they've been on loads already this season.

Bloody Leeds have the most coverage. It'll be their 11th time tomorrow that they've been live on Sky but why as they're just a mid table team and have for years.

It'll be our 8th time tomorrow and our home game against Burnley is now on sky and expect more.

I would imagine it's done on ratings

This. It's as if Leeds are a huge club in the Premier ffs

To be fair though we have quite a few every season.

Understandable considering you've been fighting promotion and then got promoted and are making a late charge for the play offs.

But Leeds :(

Again, despite Weeds being one of the most loathed clubs in the country, the media seem to think they are still the Real Madrid of England and will get promoted any time. Plus their owner is deluded so will probably do something stupid which will get views.

Wolves are a well supported club, as are Leeds. Often see fans of both clubs about the place. I can think of several, who actually go to games. Don't think there's any more to it than that.

Just feel there should be an even playing field so to speak on how many televised games clubs get when your dishing out for sky every month, maybe I'll just join the kodi revolution

I can understand Leeds, by far the biggest club in the championship and if you take your cameras there enough times you are bound to be there when something daft happens as it always does at Leeds.

Its nothing to do with league positions. It's all about viewing figures.

Any club with a large fan Base will get quite a few.of their away games shown as there are a shit load of fans that will tune in.

Each club has to be shown a certain amount of times, not sure how many times but there is a minimum. Leeds, Wolves and I imagine Villa next season will be on the box a lot. We seem to be quite popular with them too. I do think from this time of the season on only teams fighting for something should be shown. Thus ruling out Leeds who are yet again destined for another season in the wilderness.

You make a very valid point and I concur

Money talks. Leeds still have far more fans around the country than your average championship club => more viewers => more ad revenue for Murdoch
