13 games to go

Sat Feb 27, 2016 9:46 am

And we have to play the teams in positions

2,5,6,7(we are currently 8th),9,10,11,13,14,17,18,20,23

So a pretty tough run in on paper.

That said we are playing all teams 3 places directly above us and 4 places directly below us so plenty of 6 pointers to play for.

It's often been the case that playing teams near the bottom toward the end of the season is the most difficult challenge as they fight like dogs.

Nice to have a few 'big' games to look forward to.

Some decent results over the next few weeks and home games v Ipswich, Derby, Brum etc. ... should be exciting.

The only fixture that I think we've got very little chance in is Burnley away.
The joys of the Championship !

On my way into Cardiff.

Today is a big game, I feel if we don't get the three points today it will be tough. Would help build confidence as Preston are one of the form teams, and possibly derail Preston's form.

It's been said over and over again but our biggest problem is consistency. We have three games now that are very winnable in Preston at home, Bristol away and Leeds at home. I would expect at least 6 points from these, but no reason we can't get 7-9. Well the only reason we can't is consistency!

Could argue that we have four very winnable games as after these three we have Ipswich at home which could be, like today, a huge game. Not got the best record against Ipswich either.

Need to win 3 of those 4 to stay in touch.

Draws not really of much use to us now - we've had too many of them.

I really hope we can keep in the mix otherwise the season will peter out and the recent positivity will drain away with ever dwindling crowds.

A few decent results should also help season ticket sales for next year

Wedensday have 12 games left and play the teams in positions

4,5,8,10,12,15,16,19,20,21,22,24

So a much easier run in on paper but as we've found to our cost this season football is played on grass not paper and it's the points dropped against the bottom third sides that could ultimately cost us a play off place.

Sometimes the case. Sometimes not.

Blackpool, Wigan and Millwall went down with a whimper last season.

I would much rather Wednesday's run in than ours especially with 6 points already on the board albeit a game more played.

I think it's better that we have a tough run it will really test us and show which way out season is going to go, a lot of six pointers in there. Our last two games could be crucial to our season Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham. With a bit more consistency we can be in the play offs :bluebird:

I'd agree they are favourites- if they can keep key players fit they should finish above us now.
The beauty of football though is anything can happen.

Just read 'The Crazy Gang'- who would have predicted what they achieved !

Going to be tough but our next few matches are winnable. Hopefully we can get ourselved within touching distance before tough away matches to come
