Preston North End Football Club (often shortened to PNE) is an English football club located in the Deepdale area of Preston, Lancashire. They currently play in the Championship, the second tier of the English football league system, having won promotion from League One via the play-offs at the end of the 2014–15 season.

The club was a founding member of the Football League and completed the inaugural season unbeaten to become the first league champions, in the same season winning the FA Cup without conceding a goal to become the first club to achieve the English football "Double". Preston's unbeaten League and Cup season earned them the nickname "The Invincibles".

Preston's most recent major trophy success was their FA Cup victory over Huddersfield Town F.C. in 1938. Many notable players have played for the club, including Tom Finney, Bill Shankly, Tommy Docherty, Alan Kelly, Sr. and Graham Alexander.

Based on results achieved in the Football League from 1888–89 to 2014–15, Preston were ranked as the fourth most-successful English football club of all time domestically, while only Notts County had played more Football League games than Preston

Draw.

Your win against us was because of Hughton cluster f**k of a team selection. Last season we played 4-5-1 and nearly got relegated so this years gone 4-4-2 and are promotion contenders. We switch to 4-5-1 at Hull and get a draw and come to Cardiff with the same system after our straight 4 wins with 4-4-2 and we get battered. We leave out our key players and pack our midfield with like minded defensive midfielders which was our problem last year.

we go back to 4-4-2 at Bristol and hey presto we batter them
Hughton fuxks me off with his 4-5-1 system as it doesn't f*cking work.

you'll draw Saturday.

Can Preston North End surprise everyone and reach the play-offs?

Thursday 25th Feb 2016

One of our latest questions we posed to our audience is ‘Can Preston North End surprise everyone and reach the play-offs?’

Simon Grayson’s side have been going under the radar this season, and are having a simply sensational 2015/16 campaign, with the club currently in ninth place, only six points off the play-offs.

Preston have only lost once in their last ten Sky Bet Championship fixtures, and are one of the form sides in the second tier of English football, and ultimately have a chance of getting into that coveted top six come the end of the season.

So, we here at Football League World want to know whether you think Preston can defy the odds and get a play-off spot?

Sammy Ameobi could return to Cardiff's starting line-up for the Sky Bet Championship visit of in-form Preston.

Ameobi lost his place after picking up a red card at Charlton recently, with his replacement Lex Immers scoring in the 4-1 victory over Brighton last weekend.

But Bluebirds boss Russell Slade was disappointed with his side's performance in the 3-1 midweek defeat at Middlesbrough and might make a few changes, with Lee Peltier and Aron Gunnarsson also pushing for recalls after a busy schedule.
