He was appalling, the game was killed off as soon as peltier came on.

Didn't stick very close for the cross they scored off.
Can't defend to save his life but hey he gives his shirt away to fans and his curly hair bounces when he runs.

I do think Fabio can struggle against quality wingers but what a lot of people forget is the way he wins the ball back from the opposition by "aggressive defending" ! By that I mean he will make tackles in the attacking half rather than just closing down. Yesterday he did it 3 times in the time he was on the pitch and it really provided huge momentum for the team.
It's a quality nobody else in the squad has. We are lucky to have 3 good fullbacks, the best balance is Fabio + Malone or Peltier in my opinion but it's a good position to be in![]()

As i said earlier in the thread he tackles further up the pitch cos thats usually where he loses it. Are people that thick that they cant see that if he didnt lose the ball in the first place he wouldnt have to dive in to win it back?!?!

City fans love Fabio because he will work his balls off and he's got fight. So what's he looses the ball sometimes, not like superkev was a dribble master. End of the day he's a championship player for a reason but players will always get respect here for giving 100% it doesn't make anyone thick.

Whitts, Bothroyd, Jason Bowen, Jason Fowler.etc.etc. Technically good players are never fully appreciated. They are the first players the crowd jumps on.
I blame the fact people grew up in a rugby loving country and dont understand or appreciate the beauty of the round ball game.

Condescending, patronising, simplistic twadle! Let's form an hypothesis and make the facts fit to prove it as absolute.
Ian Gibson, Peter King, Barrie Jones, Willie Anderson, Alan Campbell, Chris Burke and Aaron Ramsey have all been absolutely magnificent footballers who have graced a City shirt in the years since I have been supporting. All of them were supremely gifted technically, had flair, imagination, graft and the gift of performing the unexpected to turn a game in our favour.
All of these players were firm favourites with supporters, they had the ability to get fans off their feet in awe and wonder. Anybody who witnessed and appreciated their talents would know and recognise the beauty of the round ball game.
I never touched a rugby ball outside school growing up, would travel miles to kick a soccer ball and did so for over 19 years.
Fabio's enthusiasm, verve and passion to play is evident to all City fans. He marked their dangerous left winger extremely tightly for the first 45 minutes, he was all over him like a rash. He found time to press opponents in their half of the field and win the ball back high up the field. He showed great pace, energy and verve to support Lawrence and helped him terrorise Calderon at left back. I sit in the Ninian stand and it was obvious that Fabio had hurt himself prior to the cross from which Brighton scored.
Their left winger actually had more success against Peltier.
Every player will give the ball away during a game, few are perfect. However, Fabio never puts his hands on his hips and expects teammates to get it back. It takes all sorts of palyers to make a successful team and Fabio was an intergalactic part of a successful team on Saturday.
I am glad I was there soaking to the skin to support every member of a team that performed magnificently on Saturday and did my City proud.

Kennedy the slowest full back we have ever had! More pace in a rocking horse!

Could read the game and rarely gave away possession. Unlike Fabio.
