I have always been one of whitt's critics, but today he was fantastic. I'm glad to see him having a shot on goal instead of passing everytime, and also moving forward from a deep position where he often loomed.

In a 442 in the middle he can't do it, not got the legs. On the left drifting inside and linking up he is different class. Like a new signing.

All about confidence with Whitts. We've been so used to him being brilliant for us and fans got on his back when he started doing things wrong.

So glad he's back scoring again and back to himself. One of our best players ever, city legend in my eyes!

Im not a Whitts fan, but he was solid enough today. We do lose a lot of creative shape at times though we crying out for someone outside him making run into space. He knows he aint got the legs so shouldnt be pushed out wide.

Malone did that all game yesterday. Whitts is the perfect partner for Malone on that left. Its a shame Ralls was passing was poor yesterday as we had many overloads on the left with Malone bombing on.

How poetic as he passes or is about to pass Peter King's goal scoring record for the City - 2 fabulous number 7s for us, and I have been lucky enough to see them both.

His first goal was sublime skill - flicked with the outside of his left boot through the legs of the defender, passed into the far corner of the net. Very nonchalant, but so skilful.

The second - the penalty - would have taken the keeper's hand off if he got near it!

Whenever Whittington has been dropped he's always come back stronger.. Class act with a wand of a left foot, his first goal yesterday was pure class.
