A very close friend of mine who works for the media, lives in Cyprus and reports back information from the Middle East has told me today we are very very close to another world war. I know people will mock and take the piss but if this is true, how frighting is this thought!!

I think with a user name with 'Mad' in it after writing that is pretty apt to be honest .

I've heard some ITKs who spend hours bleating the club will buy or sell this player etc but never some ITK who believes the world is coming to an end ....

With Putin in charge of Russia anything could be possible and his intervention in Syria has potential to spark a wider conflict.

The middle east conflict is a complete mess and causing a dreadful refugee problem as no-one seems to know who is fighting who? Whilst David Cameron is wasting everyone's time with his failed European Union renegotiation, it is telling that other European leaders consider a Brexit a minor unimportant distraction compared to what is happening in Syria.

The person I know would not be tipped off, he is the main editor for the Middle East, he sees the beheadings and mass killings on a daily basis, but his job is to decide what should and shouldn't be in the uk press.
