Will Vincent Tan have been happy with what he saw on Saturday?

By Phil Smith

Monday 15th Feb 2016

Vincent Tan was present in the director's box at Charlton, so will have been delighted to see the players whose wages he pays adhere to his request for more shots at goal.

He won't be so pleased with the fact that none of them went in... and Cardiff's 18 attempts still fell short of the minimum 30 per game Tan wants to see.

However, as the owner says, it's the law of averages. Don't try and you won't score.

They will also point to the fact that Anthony Pilkington's disallowed goal was unfairly ruled out as evidence that the three points could easily have been won.

If they keep having this many attempts and coming this close, the goals will surely come.

I don't think he would've been happy. But he has a point, it did lift the crowd massively on saturday when we started attacking and shooting.

I was dissapointed in charlton tho. The slow walking off of the subs early in the second half. It is 0 - 0 and they are at home! Where is the fight in the team? Those home supporters pay good money to watch their team but yet they play for a draw at home! shocking!!!

It's easy to take the p**s out of Tan's idea but I can't be the only one who has been so frustrated in the past of our players taking runs into good positions just outside the box and then stopped and passed the ball sideways or back and I've thought why haven't you had a pop at goal, if you don't try you'll never score. Of course the idea that you take 10 shots you get a goal we all know is a heap of sh*t as it depends on so much, how good you are at shooting, how good the opposition defence and goalie are etc. but I do feel they have been too goal shy for years especially Whitts.

Yea I agree to. We have all been moaning since Malkay that the football entertainment value has been poor so in that way we are at one with our owner  :tandragon:

I remember yelling at Derek Brazil to shoot one night at Ninian Park.

I f@@cking regretted it when he eventually did.

Be careful what you wish for and all that haha. I did the same with Gunnar last season and I vowed then never to yell at anyone to shoot again!

Who's taking the piss out if his idea?

Actually we do need to be more exciting and to have more shots at goal :ayatollah:

Annis our main problem is having shots at goal! So tan is right up to point, if anyone else said it the idea wouldn't be so ridiculed as its been by some? :old:
