A senior officer said the men's behaviour was 'a disgrace' and he'd like to confront them with video evidence

Sunday 14th Feb 2016

Rugby fans descend on Cardiff in their thousands for Wales matches
Senior police officers have slammed middle-aged men who go on all-day drinking sessions when Wales play rugby and “think that they can behave any way they like”.

One officer described the men’s behaviour as “a nightmare”, “a disgrace” and said they turned into “bullies”.

He said he would like to confront them with video evidence of their misbehavior when they return to work in their suits after match day.

Good to see this being brought into the open. Normally keep violence with rugby fans quiet.

RUGBY FAT LADS - THE TRUTH

This piece is absolutely spot on. As soon as someone says 'I used to play but injured my back, still plays me up', I immediately know that they are fat balding mid-life crisis under-achieving parochial c.unts trying to convince themselves that they were once sportsmen. Weapons-Grade Twats.

This has been going on for 20 odd years or more but always brushed under the carpet as high jinx or whatever that means. There used to be trouble at football but it was confined to a relatively small groups, with rugby there are 1000's of drunk people who cannot be reasoned with. They just think it's ok to act like they do because they see everyone else the same.
Going into the city centre on match days has been a no no for practically everyone I know, leave it to the drunks and fools.

Still nothing will change

This was highlighted last year too in the game against England which was on a Friday night. The next game Wales play is Friday 26th, the police are going to be out in force for this one and any trouble makers will be dealt with. Gone are the days where you could knock someone out and get away with it because "it's the rugby innit, everyones had a drink". Cardiff councillors and police have had enough because it's putting a lot of people off going to Cardiff on match days.

I can only say they are ten years too late but i'm glad action is finally being taken.

Listen my friend dont judge the average rugby player by the same standards as the drunken men and women who go to watch international rugby at the Millennium stadium. Most of those idiots have never been near a rugby pitch or local rugby club in their life. And having played rugby in wales for over 25 years, in the front row i can assure you it is very hard and requires a lot of strength, fitness and in some cases bottle.

Egg Chaser....I played rugby all my life because i had no talent to play football, Its always better to play sport rather than watch. Ive always watched city, mostly mid week games until i stopped playing rugby then ive had a sesson ticket every year, my father and grandfather all followed the city as does my son who also plays rugby so yes i played but you can hardly call me an egg chaser or associate me with that rabble who go to welsh rugby internationals. :old: :ayatollah: :D

Used to my play rugby for baglan rfc after many seasons playing and watching cardiff been to many city away games where our fans have not been let into the ground because police and stewards suspected our fans have to much drink what amazes me rugby fans are let into Ms when they have had loads to much to drink and then let them drink in the ground and they can take there drinks into the seats which pisses many people off because they half the game up and down getting beer and people got to move

I know loads of ex players and local club people who dont go to the millennium stadium anymore because of the drunken clowns who seem to have taken over international home matches, Pissed up blokes screaming at the referee, people up and down for drinks then spilling half of it over you and the number of women in pink hats and those awful daffodil hats still probably wondering why shane is not playing are enough to drive anyone mad.
