Administration ?

Sun Feb 14, 2016 3:26 pm

I regularly read on here about how certain individuals saved us from administration and stopped the club from disappearing into the sands of time.
You can go back years...........The Kumars at Sloper Road, Bob "not enough seats" Grogan, Tony "The Travel man" Clemo, Ricky "Holiday Camp" Wright, Sir Stephen Borley also known as "Lord Thackery of Llanrumbo" Scam Hammam, The ever so dubious Lord Ridsdale of Yorkshire, and now The very right and honourable Vincent Tan.
These lot go back an awful long way, and not once did we go into administration thanks to them putting their hard earned cash into our great club.
But I often wonder where would we be now if we had gone through ??

Top of the Premier if you take Leicester's example of building a new stadium and then going into administration owing everyone.

Bournemouth another one who have been through administration many times over the last 10-15 years but everyone chooses to ignore that and go on about how they've had an amazing rise - which they have but not the greatest way to go about it.

It's what really grates me about people saying how well Swansea are run and it's the perfect model.

If they had gone into administration one yesr later they'd have faced points deduction and almost certain relegation out of the league.

Our neighbours down the road are where we'd like to be - in the premiership. But, wasn't this because Huw Jenkins and his board of directors took over a club that had twice gone into administration, and were left with a clean slate ?
I wonder how they would have faired if they had taken on the club's debts ?
I looked for teams who had gone into administration in recent times, and was surprised to see the likes of Leicester, Southampton, Swansea, Derby, Huddersfield and Ipswich in the list.
It doesn't seem to have done much harm to these teams does it ?
