" Ameobi flatters to deceive again"

By Paul Smith

There were, once again, plenty of encouraging signs from Ameobi. Very early on, he dragged his marker to the byline before drifting a delightful ball over to the back post where Pilkington almost scored.

After that, however, it was the same old story.

He took too long on the ball for the most part, and couldn't find the end product when his team needed it.

Typical posing modern day lazy b*stard who doesnt give a shite.

Thought he was a little unlucky with the first yellow - their player made a right meal of what was a pretty inocuous tackle.

The second yellow was just stupidity, especially when the ref had just booked a Charlton player for kicking the ball away.

Can't see him getting those 20 goals he promised us at the start of the season!

He got one against Wolves at home and that is the only one I recall. So on that basis 19

He came to the club thinking he was the next Alan Shearer, turns out he can't be trusted by any manager to play upfront and is shifted to the wing due to a contractual agreement he must play?

Re: " AMEOBI "

Does anyone know what the referee blew up for 1 (one) second before Ameobi lashed it into the net? Pilkington definitely wasn't offside when Malone played it and there was definitely no infringement from Pilkington, all he did was use his body strength to hold off the defender before diverting the ball back to Ameobi to score.

The referee couldn't wait to send him off either. The referee we had yesterday has a history of dishing out the cards. Maybe that referee should drop a few levels to a slower paced game until he realises what is a booking/sending off and what isn't a booking/sending off.

That's yet another game we have been robbed by the officials. Whoever says luck evens out in football is talking absolute nonsense.

So once again it was the ref's fault we did'nt win. That must be the 20th game this season where we failed to win because of the ref or the pitch condition. Like I said last week, maybe it's because we are not quite good enough.

You do realise the Pilkington goal was a perfectly good goal don't you?

We weren't good enough to win at places like Hull, but we were good enough to win yesterday and because of wrong decisions, we were robbed. That's a fact, whether you like it or not.

The only thing that counts is the score. Fact:we did'nt win. We never complain when a dodgy decision goes our way. Every team in every game will point to a decision they don't agree with. It's football and virtually every game I have watched over close on 50 years has had at least one decision that we all know was wrong. That's why we see this sort of comment nearly every time we fail to win. Rarely, if ever do we see any complaints when we get the rub of the green.

You make your own luck, if we conceded less and scored more then we wouldn't have to point to these decisions.

You're right. There's been SO MANY game changing decisions by the referee which robbed us points. And ZERO that gave us points.

Charlie Austins Hand ball goal from the corner set piece, We were all over them at that point & could have won the game.

Even last week when Lawrence (OUR OWN PLAYER) was down on the floor, and everyone else on both teams CONTINUED to play, we stole the ball off Dons, and AS WE SHOT, the referee wasn't even LOOKING at lawrence (Watch the clip) The referee suspiciously blows the whistle AS WE shoot, not even looking at Tom. It's a joke.

Same today too, Ameobi shot literally a SECOND after the whistle went...It was a good goal, he wants to play football, how is that possible a Yellow card?

A few weeks back, against Birmingham on TV, Connolly makes an incredible block with his FACE, Oh wait! according the ref it was his hand...Penalty. Brilliant.

So many more that I probably don't remember right now, but yeah luck isn't really in our favour. We NEED to realize we're actualyl doing really well considering our lack of luck, we're in a decent position in the league and if we had some sort of luck once and a while as many other teams get, we would be much higher up...just one of those things.

Thank you! Good to see there is someone else who actually watches our games properly!

I think we were robbed in both games against Rotherham too. Not just the two ridiculous sending offs, but Pilkington had a cast iron penalty in the home game as well, but gets booked for diving!

Like you say, we are doing well and we would be in the playoffs now if our games were referreed properly, there have been several game changing decisions going against us this season and I can't remember anything going for us. You would think that sort of luck would run out at some point.

Unfortunately, nobody is making a big fuss of it because everyone wants Slade to fail.

Re: " AMEOBI "

Tue Feb 16, 2016 2:57 pm

People only remember the decisions gone against them. The ref blew to send Peltier off against Rotherham when he should have played advantage and their striker was bearing down on goal with support coming behind.

As for the Ameobi one last Saturday the whistle was blown and the keeper didnt even try and save it.

All ifs and buts the score is the only FACT that matters.
