Spoke with a lot of passion, you can see he was hurt by people he put a lot of trust in.
I was very impressed by him.
Also doesn't like Sam the scam one bit.
He's admitted he made mistakes but has learnt and is still learning.
Hopefully it's onwards and upwards from now on .
Next season I think we could really be a force .

The overriding message coming out of the meeting was a positive one and gives the club far more financial stability to move forward.

They didn`t spoil the overall message , but there were a few key errors in what Vincent Tan said , including the following

1) He said the Supporters Trust in particular , and fans in general supported his rebranding of the club (I don`t think me saying that was not true comes out in the audio on the tape). Seems a very odd thing to say even if his subordinates were misleading him by giving him such a message as he was personally told that the vast majority of fans were against by reps.of CCST , CCSC and others at a meeting and shown copies of the results of fans` surveys to support that view.

2) He said at the meeting, when he was referring to money wasted by previous managers , that the club had spent no money either last season or this on recruiting players. Again not true. I think when the 2014/15 accounts come out , they will show that the club spent around £20m on new players in that season.

Unfortunately , I don`t think VT accepts anyone contradicting what he says , so no club employee at the meeting pointed out that he was wrong at any time , but there was some clarification of figures by Ken Choo regarding the debt to equity , debt write off and remaining debt figures .

There was quite an amusing period in the meeting when VT was speaking about his address to the players earlier in the day and his coaching instructions to them about shooting more. A few bemused faces in the audience about his claim to coaching knowledge , including that of a rather sheepish looking Russell Slade who happened to be stood at the back of the room at the time. Having spoken to RS just afterwards , he assured me that he would not be playing 10 forwards tomorrow to get the shooting stats up no matter what pressure VT brings to bear on him to do so.

Really enjoyed that, I think the chap In the front row who mentioned a greater need for communication with the fans made a really good point.

Respect to all involved.

Keith I have just watched the video and the way I heard it was that we haven't spent any money this season, due to the fact of selling Joe Mason

You may be right and I misheard "live" as I thought he said we had spent no money last season or this. He said about Saadi being the only permanent signing this year

Much greater appreciation for the man after that

Think he says enough there to suggest that Russell will remain in charge next season

Have just watched the video and now realise why some things I recall when I was there are not on it. It has been quite heavily edited down. For example it only records 3 questions being raised from the audience and there were at least 6 or 7.
I am not suggesting the video gives a misleading picture of the meeting- it doesn't-it is just that quite a bit of the meeting content is missed out. Might just have been to cut the final version down to a sensible length

Keith I thought it was a good Q&A and you asked a good question ( sneaked a few in there) :laughing6: . I think there is a part two due to be released as this does say part one on the youtube video although don't bank on that as they might not bother :bluescarf:
