In reality he is just writing off the debt that he himself is ultimately responsible for. But in typical Tan fashion he is trying to make himself look the hero, and blame other people (like Malky and Ole). Completely ignoring the fact that they did not sign the cheques, that was down to him (or HIS appointed representative/CEO). So any debt created on his watch is his responsibility, no matter how much time and money he spends trying to pass the blame to others.

Why have you put - in the words manager? Did someone have to spell it out for you?
A manager can mean nothing. The public services (council, NHS, civil service etc)are full of managers, but do not have responsibility or accountability. It is just a title and justification for high wages. Are you one of these or a teacher? As you do not understand the concept of responsibility and accountability.
For your info. I am a company director. We have a manager, who runs the day to day functions. He even appoints the staff, accompanied by another director. I just sign off the "cheques" for wages, bills etc. Therefore I know what money goes in and out of the company. On any given day I can tell the financial position of the company. These are presented at regular board meetings. As a director (company owner) I am personally accountable and responsible for the financial state of the company and that it is run correctly. For legal, H&S, HMRC issues the buck stops with me, not the manager.
Our manager (just like Malky and Ole) does not sign the cheques. He makes recommendations, but the directors decide who and what to pay. It is our decision and our responsibility. If the manager does commit fraud or does anything "dodgy" then directors can evade their responsibility as they placed trust in the manager, but we would have to prove this. Tan has tried and failed to do this with Malky or Ole.
I hope that is explained simply enough for you to understand?
Do you understand the words accountability and responsibility?
