Slade is just happy to be paid so much for his very limited talent. He wil do exactly as Tan says. Tan likes this.
The only way I can see Slade leaving is if the fans drive him out.
If Tan thinks Slade is a better manager, he should find out why he has signed 15 players, and only one he himself thinks is good enough to play regularly.

If he don't get us to playoffs than Tan's gotta sack him HARD

The man announces a £68 MILLION debt to equity swap and you make a comment about 'saving money as usual'?

How the f**k does that work.

Christ half the criticism aimed at Tan is based on the fact that he has racked up a load of debt spending money (which was to himself and he has just wiped half off with a plan to get rid of the rest across the next 5)

I swear some of our fanbase are so desperate to have a pop at the club they lose sight of reality.

last game 4 started and he had 3 on the bench but again let's not let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned witch hunt shall we

Don't think he will personally. Think Tan is happy with him but both parties will agree that it's time for Slade to move on, at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Not pretending to be UTK, just my gut feeling.

I'll have a go. But some have been nowhere near the 1st team, so not sure of their names.
Peltier, Malone, Tamas, Ameobi, Revell, Doyle, Kennedy, Lawrence, Zohore, Saadi, Immers, OKeefe (?), Odejeyi, Blaize, McAleny (now left as no playing time). I know some have only just arrived, but there some I think that were signed in teh summer and have disappeared into the not being used squad. :laughing6:
£1m was wasted on Doyle and Revell.

Re: Russell Slade here for a long time

Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:39 pm

All well and good that he thinks he's great. Alas 12000+ fans don't seem to think so. Wipe 68 million off the debt is fantastic news, the thought of another season of turgid, through the motions football is not.
Sorry but as much as Russell deserves credit for his management of others profligacy he does not instill any kind of spirit or hope in the 12,500 that are left staring at the football by numbers on the pitch.

Thanks for that,

Just had a trawl and come up with these

Youth/Development
Semi Ajayi
Jordan Blaise
Marco Weymans

First team Squad
Sammy Ameobi (Loan)
Scott Malone
Stuart o Keefe
Lee Peltier
Idriss Saadi
Tom Lawrence
Lex Immers
Kenneth Zohore

Out on Loan
Eoin Doyle
Mathew Kennedy

Did Not Make the Grade
Alex Revell
Gabriel Tamas

Returned after Loan
Connor Macaleny

There are the 15/16 I count. of that i can only count 3 or 4 that haven't worked out, which is about average (plus they didn't cost the earth).

I'm not a massive Slade fan, but i can't understand people that exaggerate stuff for the sake of knocking him

Thanks for that, but looking at the list, aside from the new loan signings (Zohore, Lawrence, Immers) Okeefe, Peltier, Malone, Ameobi play regular.

I make that 4!

Again I think that the quote about being true to his word is very important to Tan. ie TRUST.
He said something like RS is totally trustworthy and a handshake is enough.
If he had turned against RS many would have said that he using RS S his fall guy!!
It is clear that he has no time for anyone who doesn't meet this trust criteria - he won't even mention SH and MM by name.
On the other hand, I would guess that the agreement with RS is that.......if he keeps us on an even keel and with a chance of the play offs he will remain in charge till the summer when they will look at things. VT also said he would..." do whats best for the club " IMHO we won't get to the play offs and probably they will agree that RS has done his job and they may call it quits.if they make the play offs maybe he'll let RS have another go. If we get promoted RS would deserve to continue either as manager or in another capacity.
Just my opinion
 yma o hyd!

“I gave Russell a chance based on a recommendation. He was an honest man, based on what the club needed. I was looking for an honest, trustworthy manager,’’ he said.

“I am convinced that with this current group we can get promoted.”

I agree, typical muppet fans.

Re: Russell Slade here for a long time

He only said this on Slade. Looks like he made his decision hat if he fails this season he will be gone.

Tan: Russell has been excellent, a lot better than the last two managers who I paid seven or eight times a higher salary to.

Did they do a seven to eight times better job? No, they did much worse, lost me tons of money with some of those signings.

If I listen to the so called ‘experts’ in Wales, and I deliberately use apostrophes there with the word ‘experts’, then I just hear Russell is terrible, Russell is this, Russell is that.

They forget he came in at a time when I told him to clean up the mess. We’d just had two very well paid managers who spent an awful lot of money, but in my opinion didn’t always do very well.

Everybody seemed to condemn me when I brought in Russell, saying ‘Oh he’s only from the lower leagues’. But if you always adopted that view, nobody would be given a chance. I gave him a chance and I’m glad I have done.

He is totally trustworthy and I believe he’s done very well.

When Cardiff City got promoted I put £20m in to buy players that season for that ‘great manager. The fans love the previous manager (Mackay), but sometimes football fans get emotional, not logical.

Please be reasonable, don’t always hammer Russell. Okay, he’s not Tony Pulis, who would have cost us an awful lot of money.

Okay, he’s not one of these big brand name managers. Well, they get sacked too. Who would have thought Jose Mourinho would be out of a job this season?

Sometimes you need to be given a chance and I’ve given Russell one.

Don’t worry about whether we will renew his contract or not. We will do what’s right for the club.

We do business on a handshake. We trust each other.

Reading it again and between the lines seems to suggest that Slade will be thanked for his job at the end of the season then they will go seperate ways .

Keeping slade is far from saving money imo. Keeping slade is costing tan loads of money because fans wont come back because of debt to equity, they will only come back when slade is gone and football improves
