WOODWARD ON TRANSFERS

Thursday 11th Feb 2016

Ed Woodward held his conference call with Manchester United's investors this afternoon, and was asked why Leicester have been able to do so well on a small budget...

"Leicester is a fantastic reference point for everyone this year. We target quality players based on the huge amount of scouting we do and we try to do the best deal we can. There is pressure on bigger clubs to buy players who can hit the ground running, verging on world class immediately."

He is right, pressure at different clubs has a huge effect psychologically. Look how many players are brilliant, then go to Liverpool and fall flat on their face because the club still acts like it's an elite European team.

Leicester, and I'm all for them winning the league it'd be amazing. Have got a team that are playing pressure free, along with their talent and togetherness. :thumbright:

I think most of the footballing world want to see Leicester win the league.
But I would have thought that scouts at the bigger clubs would have looked in to the mentality of players before spending vast amounts of money on them. Tan moans about losing a couple of £million on Cornelius, he should look at Alex Ferguson and what he wasted on players. Even Fergusons last signing was a complete flop (Zaha for £15m).

What Leicester doing is a one off tbh wouldn't surprise me they slip up like Liverpool did a couple seasons ago.
