' Crowds must be a big worry... '

Sun Feb 07, 2016 7:08 pm

For vincent tan. He is a businessman and wont take kindly to losing money, he wants as many people in the stadium as he can to generate more money thats why he expanded it, bigger crowds = bigger profits.

With slade in charge crowds will continue to fall, this might be the nail in slades coffin imo. The only chance of getting the crowds back is to improve performances get us winning games consistently again and the dice needs to be rolled again and try a new manager, bellamy and dutch ray would be ideal from a business perspective for tan, yes it would be a gamble, but its the type of gamble which could end up a masterstroke for football and business for tan and ccfc...

Who thinks slade is a goner?

I hope so anyway..

We had the second lowest crowd in the championship last Saturday, lower than the teams in bottom 3

We only beat little Prestons home crowd.

It wouldn't do him any favors if he keeps Slade on with the crowds declining game by game and I also see it playing a big factor in Tan letting him go.

Shocking that is. Slade is the biggest factor in the crowds being so low imo. Hes got to go for the good of ccfc.

The club has lost its mojo, its a mess. We have lost the momentum that the new stadium and progression on the field generated. Nobody bought into DJ, he wasn't a hero or cult figure, so its not entirely down to the manager. Malky backed by Vinny made it feel special, we need that buzz again.

We need new commercial and stadium management, fresh ideas. I believe in unassigned seating in some areas, rail seats buts that is not within our control, half decent beer at an acceptable price, the live TV feed on the big screens, a decent announcer, slash the price for early season tickets and do deals for packages of games for next season.

The club wheel out some of the non starters (players) in the family stand, get some of them in the Ninian and Canton.

Let the family stand be for those who want a family atmosphere, have a family section in the Ninian for those who want to watch football from correct way (i hate behind the goals).

Have elected fans leader in the operations meetings, give the club some feedback. There are loads of things we could do, but the club has no identity.

The football was good under dave jones though and we were always up there competing for promotion.

Under slade the football is shit and we have never realistaclly been competing for promotion.

Good football and consistent results on the pitch is the only thing that will ensure crowds return. Slade will never deliver that so we are wasting our time.

I can't recall too many DJ chants especially the last few season. Malky played us, but we all knew that and lapped it up and went along with it.

The rebrand caused far more damage than was assessed at the time. Done my season in the premier league, never thought i'd see it, now fcuk um was prevalent in many. The glory hunters will come back when we are competing again and that is human nature. What we need is the disenchanteds back.....Not sure how, but an apology would be a start and giving us hope would be stage 3. A full season Back to Blue was the first step.

Brand Slade is not for enticing fans

He has to go

0-0's against Mk Dons won't bring the fans back. The lack of ambition off the pitch will only reflect into the stands.
I was there because im always there. Newcomers must look in horror.

If Slade isn't given the handshake next week it will happen at the end of season mainly for the reasons stated in the OP. Way to many have lost interest in the city, we all know hundreds personally. It's been better but it's hardly making you get excited on a Saturday morning.

Bellamy.
Cheap season tickets and fifty quid for kids
Intent in transfer market
Marketing and advertising properly
Free tickets for schools

It won't fix things but will be a massive positive step in attracting so many of the stay away fans

Massive hangover been discussed to death, then things we can't fix but some things you can :bluebird: :thumbright: .

Exactly, we just have to face the facts that we have one of the most fickle fanbase in the uk.

While I agree with much on the list, why should Tan do this ?
Cheap tickets if ticket sales don't significantly increase will result in a loss of revenue for Tan.
Spending more money in transfers means more losses for Tan, especially of crowds don't return.

It is Tan's money and he has lost any trust in City fans and British sporting media, after the Malky debacle and City fans saying we would get sell outs EVERY week if we returned to blue.

Those fans also said, that they wouldn't care if we were in the conference as long as we were in blue.

Those fans also said, that we must stop the over spending and would welcome much more controlled spending even it meant mid table safety.

We have moved the goal posts as much as Tan.

Blame tan blame Slade but must not blame fickle fans?
Can anyone admit that if we were top with Slade 20k be normal crowd? But that would mean not Slade or tans fault the low ctowds now?

No, he isn't!

PEOPLE are the reason crowds are so low!

How many excuses have the 'stay aways' cited since our relegation from the Premier League?

Far too many to list and just one after the other. Some for genuine reasons, but most simply chased the glory and will return if it happens again!

For evidence, look at the crowds post red. So long as we were in the Premier League, a lot of people couldn't have given a fig (polite version) and 30,000 plus every home game proved that!

I'm not saying it was right but it is how it is and how it will be into the future!

A decrease in season ticket prices may help, as may a change of manager, but the simple fact is that no matter who is in charge of team affairs, he/she will be judged solely on results and league position and that is what will drive the majority of supporters into (or out of) the CCS! ;)

Of course the crowds would be higher if we were top of the division, that's just stating the bleeding obvious isn't it. We have fickle fans just like any other club, but given the farcical way the club has been run over the last three or four years, can you really blame them.

You make some good points

But the simple fact is that the club have been run financially ineptly for a lot longer than from the moment Vincent Tan arrived and the big difference is that Vincent Tan can (if he so chooses) afford the debt he has created; unlike others who have tried and failed down the years! ;)

I would likely take Rick Wright out of that group, as he came, he saw, he told us what he'd do and he did it...whether we liked it or not come the reckoning time!

No, the reality is our fans will cling on to any reason to excuse their shit support. 2nd worse in the championship this weekend, all because we don't like the tactics? I'm sorry, but that's no excuse in my book it's just weak.

I wouldn't argue with any of that, as you've said ultimately it's success that puts bums on seats. I just get cheesed of with the attitude of people like Pembroke Alan that are always quick to blame his fellow City fans and refuse to acknowledge the mess that the club has become under tans ownership.

There's a whole host of reasons why fans aren't attending, which have been listed time and time again on here, adnauseum! but the one thing that will get them all coming back, whatever little individual grievance they might have, is winning football,if it's entertaining football as well, then mores the better, but make no mistake, only winning football will bring the fans back

Agree 100 per cent. Problem is we ate making cutbacks so cant see winning football coming back for a while
