Why did the ref stop the game when we scored it was our player down strange decision very poor today park ref at best

I'm guessing it was because he thought it was a head injury.

Begs the question ,though, why he didn't blow before Ameobi won the ball.

Decision cost us 2 points as MK didn't have the ability there to come back

I got to stick up for the ref here.

Lawrence went down, didn't look that bad at the time, the ball was heading out of the box towards the touchline and the ref was standing on the edge of the box looking towards the direction of the Ninian Stand, Pilkington, inside the box, was calling for the ref's attention pointing toward Lawrence's head injury, the ref blew his whistle as Ameobi collected the ball and made his way into the box.

The ref blew his whistle before Ameobi took another touch and shot.

If Pilkington had not called the ref then I doubt the ref would have blown.

Not having a go at Pilkington either, he did the right thing at the time but I doubt Pilkington would have called the ref if he thought Ameobi would have collected the ball and headed into the box.

In fairness, I agree with you, he was put in the position where he had a decision to make, but it just seems we aren't getting the rub of the green at the moment with decisions and it's a fine line between success and failure.

Hard to tell the validity of them but we seem to be having a whole load of penalty shouts, especially at the Canton End, last few games.. and getting none

From where I was in the Canton it looked like he saw Lawrence go down (and there was a big shout from the crowd too) and ignored it as the ball went wide, but the minute Ameobi got hold of the ball, that's when he blew up.
