ALAN WHITLEY

Fri Jul 02, 2010 12:57 am

I notice his name is popping up a lot as an egg chaser and someone we need rid of? is there any reason for this.
When he was at Eversheds Solicitors (a while ago now) all he would talk about was Cardiff City and never mention the egg once. Someone posted up his profile in another thread and his past is all football as well (rather than egg) AND IS A CITY FAN.

I think it was Annis or Carl that also said before he brought TG and co to the table.
So im left wondering what he has done said to now be one of the bad guys on the board?

No, he's one of the largest shareholders in is own right.

I believe though he is a 'friend' of Guy.

I also belive

a. He has earnt money of the club
b. He has put in a lot of work for the club
c. He's got the clubs interests at heart.

Sorry Tim, I was under the impression that he was just looking out for P.M.G's interests? Hence his placement on the board?

Can you update me on what he actually does for the club? Not a dig just a question. His name only creeps up when were in the shit.

As you were so nice to me last time, Whitely is successful senior partner of his own legal firm and I believe also has involvement in a finance consultancy business. He is a major shareholder at CCFC and I understand highly involved in the deal to bring the Malaysians in. And as I said before a city fan. I suspect his name comes up when we are in a mess as he gets involved in the legal side of things.

It was just a question.

Yeah I know mate :ayatollah:
I only know him and of him slightly and that he is a big city fan.

So I wondered why Annis and Carl refer to him as someone very much on the outside and an egg chaser. Im guessing he was part of the board to Shaft/get rid of Sam but other than that I dont see why he has been thrown in the egg bracket

Does he work for M & A Solicitors?

If so they appear as the club's legal representatives on all the paperwork lodged at Companies House.

Alan Whiteley qualified as a lawyer with Eversheds Solicitors in 1987 and became a partner in the company in 1989. He founded M&A Solicitors with fellow Eversheds partner Stephen Berry in 1999 and is now recognised as one of the country’s leading specialists in corporate and commercial law. During a successful legal career, he has managed a number of high-profile sales and disposals, including the sale of Peter’s Savoury Products to Grand Metropolitan PLC for £75 million.

Whiteley, who has lived most of his life in the Bridgend area, played football for Bryntirion Athletic in the South Wales Amateur League and began supporting Cardiff City during his early-teens. A long-time associate of major shareholder Paul Guy, he joined the Bluebirds’ board following the January 2007 takeover, having previously filled the role of Company Secretary.
