' Jury out on Tom Lawrence? '
By Steve Tucker
In on loan from Leicester and Tom Lawrence was straight into Russell Slade’s side v MK Dons. It started out as effectively a good old 4-4-2 with Lawrence and Anthony Pilkington effectively as advanced as each other.
As a number ten, Lawrence is no Joe mason, although this is not necessarily a bad thing. Whereas Mason had the knack of reading a situation and finding the correct position or space in the box, here, Lawrence showed he likes to get the ball at his feet and run at people really.
A fabulous, mazy run, in the second-half bamboozled the Dins defence with the shot from the young Wales international just wide. Lawrence reasonably impressed on his Cardiff debut, there were signs of hope with him yet to bed in. His partnership with Pilkington certainly needs work with the question remaining of whether it can work at all.

Just seen the header he missed on SSN. Should have buried that. Delicious cross by Whitts.

Thought the lad had a good game - I am sure he will only get better as well

First game new team thought he did really well, next game I would put Kenny in @ 9 Tom in @ 10 and pilks out wide instead of Ameobi, and Immers instead of Ralls

I wouldn't judge anyone on that slush puppy of a pitch yesterday.
He did OK, as did the other new guy but it was horrible to play on.

I would try macheda with Lawrence and Noone hopefully back wide instead of ameobi. Don't see much in immers tbh

I think you've been on the vino, igov. Slade won't make that many changes. I don't think Zahore is a starter yet and there is no way Ralls will be dropped. To find a place for Immers is tricky, but as Lawrence has clearly had a starting place guaranteed, you have to drop Ameobi and either play Lawrence or Pilks out wide. (providing No one is still out next week).
Ps have seen Lawrence 'In the flesh' a couple of times now and yes, he is a tricky, hard working player when makes intelligent runs, but he does not strike me as a consistent goal scorer. I hope I am proven wrong.

A drier day that header would have gone in it skidded on the mud.
First half he done great I thought just a few shit balls and not much support on the right from sammy unfortunately

I thought he was average yesterday but no way can any realistic assessment be made after one game in difficult conditions, a rain soaked pitch and having only trained with his new team mates for a few days.
Perhaps tried a little too hard to impress yesterday.

I thought he did well. Had a good game and looks promising.

One game and the clown Tucker makes a story up "The jury is out". Bonkers.

Agree, typical of this forum!

Pilks and Lawrence are both numbers 10's. Lawrence may well develop into a number 9 but that will take time. In the meantime I'd take a punt with Zohore and Lawrence starting

Why is it typical of the forum when Tucker wrote it?
We just put news articles from the media on the forum for all to read, would you prefer us not to?

It's typical of this forum because that wasn't the headline used in Tuckers article.
It's says "Tom Lawrence verdict" not "Jury's Out"
Click bait on here is ridiculous
