Karl Robinson is excited for the challenges forthcoming, as his side head into the final three months of the campaign.

Robinson’s Dons sit two places above the bottom three in the Sky Bet Championship table and tomorrow take on play-off contenders Cardiff City, a side they’ve beaten twice already this season. Kick-off in South Wales is at 3pm.

“It’s an important time of the season and we’re excited,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “We’ve been playing okay and it’s important we try and maintain, if not improve on that.”

“We viewed last weekend as a learning curve, on an individual and collective basis. We’ve took one or two components out of that game and tried to improve in training during the week. We did an 11 versus 11 in training on Wednesday and they were excellent.

“We’ve done a bit of business in the window as well so we’re going there with a few different players.”

He continued: “They are a good side, a top 10 side. It’s always going to be a difficult challenge when you are facing a team competing for promotion. We know they’ll want to have a lot of the ball and there is an awful lot of quality in their team.

“We know we’re going to have to be at our very best. We have a game plan, as we always do, and a collective goal to get as many points as we possibly can. The players are really excited by the challenge.”
