Sky Sports

05/02/16

Bristol City have been given permission to hold talks with Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson over the vacant manager's position at Ashton Gate.

The 34-year-old former Bristol City player has taken Barnsley to this year's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final by beating Fleetwood in the Northern final only last night.

BRISTOL CITY MANAGER SEARCH

Garry Monk and Tim Sherwood have both been linked with the vacant Bristol City manager's job, but we understand the club have made contact with neither.

Sky sources understand there is currently no frontrunner, and they're still having informal discussions with potential candidates

John Pemberton, the caretaker, will take charge against Charlton this weekend.

I bet Manchester City are glad they've already tied up a deal for Pep Guardiola :D

Garry Monk would be an interesting one, given we're over there in a few weeks! :laughing6: :laughing6:

Big fan of the little man Lee Johnson who seems like a good guy with a bright managerial future ahead of him HOWEVER I believe he should stick with Barnsley and see out the job, he's taken them from 22nd to 12th since he's joined them, he has a good set of players to do well next season.
