UNITED 'MADE £145m BID FOR NEYMAR'

Manchester United made a £145m bid for Barcelona forward Neymar last summer, according to the Brazilian's father.

Neymar has scored 21 goals in 27 appearances this season, and was thought to have been the subject of a world-record bid from Louis van Gaal's side.

"Manchester United is the club that offered €190m for Neymar," Neymar's father, Neymar Santos Sr, told Spanish radio station COPE. "He has still two years of contract, but you all can be calm as my son is so happy here."

Footballs gone crazy, Naymar is an amazing talent but £145m is just silly.

But where's it going to stop though?! £145m is ridiculous, it won't be long and it'll be going north of £200m just to get a top player into a club.

Crazy money involved these days.

Imagine paying that sort of money then he gets crocked and is out for 6 months, cos players like him will always at tract attention from defenders.

Very true sometimes clubs need the help of fate to protect them from themselves. I still think the transfer embargo was a good thing for us stopping another £1m for Tony Watt being thrown down a bottomless pit.
