Clubs in pursuit of hot property Russell Slade

If reports are correct then it seems that for Russell Slade, taking the Cardiff City job and going some way to ‘fixing’ the club as many would say, has done his CV no harm and he is attracting many admirers for it. A number of pundits including Ian Holloway and fellow managers including Kenny Jackett and Neil Redfearn have all praised what Slade has done during his time at the Welsh capital.
Bristol City are currently the only team in the Championship without a manager so it is unclear which clubs are currently keeping tabs on the Wokingham-born manager but you would assume it likely that the teams are based in the top three tiers of the English leagues.
Whether Russell Slade gets a new contract at Cardiff City or not could well depend on whether he meets the season objective and guides the team into the play-offs but with other clubs circling the Bluebirds’ boss, have Cardiff City got time to wait and if they do, will other clubs move to secure his services?
Slade has a wealth of managerial and coaching experience with over twenty years in the game, much of which has come in the lower parts of the Football League. The 55-year-old who begun his managerial career as a caretaker manager at Notts County, has won two League One manager of the year awards and his tenure at Cardiff City is his first opportunity in a level as high as the second-tier.
