Joe Mason was brought to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Cardiff City during the January transfer window.

Mason scores on his debut

Joe Mason has told the Express and Star that he has enjoyed his first two training sessions at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mason was Wolves’ most expensive addition of the January transfer window, and he scored on his debut in a 2-2 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

And the 24-year-old striker says that he has relished training with his new teammates, although he expects it will take time for him to fully adapt to his new surroundings.

“I had two full days training and I enjoyed it, but it’ll take time to get to know how we all play together,” Mason said.

“As a whole, the match could have been better and we should have won.”

Mason scored within the first three minutes of Wolves’ match against Bolton, which kicked off his time at Molineux in style.

Although his influence on the match did dip as the game progressed, his debut still offered some encouragement.

Mason will need to continue to hit the back of the net if he is to be a success at Wolves, as he has big boots to fill.

The former Cardiff City man has been brought in to help fill the void left by Benik Afobe’s departure, meaning he is under pressure to hit the ground running for Kenny Jackett’s team.
