Cardiff City strike duo Alex Revell and Federico Macheda set to leave on loan

The destination of the front-men has not yet been finalised but Revell was recently heavily linked with former club Rotherham


Gabriel Tamas is negotiating his comeback at Steaua. He could cancel his contract with Cardiff tomorrow if he agrees terms with Steaua.

Two good moves (Revell and Tamas) and a disappointing one (Macheda) IMHO

I would have liked to have seen the latter given a run, as he has so much 'promise' and his early goals-to-games ratio wasn't that bad for us

Whatever happens, ! wish all three the very best wherever/if they go

Macheda is only a loan, score a hatful of goals on loan with his bad back fixed, and we have him back next season, job done

Macheda, out of the three, is probably on way more money than the rest, & if he does leave, I doubt he will ever come back.

Alex Revell, who has already been on loan with Wigan this season, is being linked with former club Rotherham with former Man United man Federico Macheda off to Bristol City?

Both, it seems, will be leaving Cardiff though with Wales Online reporting they're wrapping up loan exits to see them leave for Championship rivals before the transfer window closes at 11pm, which will help offset the arrivals we've seen today despite the other strikers lost.

Neither have done much since arriving at the Cardiff City Stadium, admittedly injuries have hampered Macheda, so will they be missed? Revell has always struggled to win over the fans since he was signed from the Millers.

David Marshall and Craig Noone aren't going anywhere though

Shame about Macheda cause there was potential there but can't wait to see the back of Revell and very happy about their replacements.

Don't usually hear much inside stuff but Macheda has been taken off the list to leave on loan as Mason was sold.. the board are happy to keep him.

Cardiff City striker Alex Revell has joined MK Dons on a last-minute permanent deal on transfer deadline day. Revell has been out of favour for the majority of the season and leaves Cardiff City on a permanent basis after recently returning from a loan spell at League One outfit Wigan Athletic.

Alex Revell has joined MK Dons on a permanent transfer with just minutes left of the transfer window. The experienced striker has been limited to eleven appearances this season with many of them coming from the bench.

Revell signed for Cardiff City during the January window last year and his most significant contribution arrived in the form of a winning goal away at Brentford last season. The former Rotherham striker actually scored against MK Dons at Stadium: MK earlier this season in a League Cup meeting.
The 32-year-old joined Wigan Athletic for a short spell towards the end of last year and played seven times, scoring once before returning for ‘personal circumstances’.

Alex Revell joins Karl Robinson’s side only days before they face Cardiff at the Welsh capital on Saturday so he could make his début against his former club this weekend. The Dons are just one point clear of the relegation in the Sky Bet Championship, positioned in twentieth.

Karl Robinson’s men were notably knocked out of the F.A Cup by Chelsea on the weekend, losing 5-1 to the current Premier League title holders and face a battle to stay up this season. Welsh international Simon Church was tonight loaned to Aberdeen as Revell comes in to replace him.

He made his debut in a 1–0 win over Fulham the following day and went on to score his first goal against Norwich City, the next game. He went onto finish the season with 2 goals in 17 games for his new club and 6 in total for the season.

Revell had started in the starting eleven, the following season partnering Joe Mason, however was dropped after 3 games after a slow start to the season. Lets hope he can score some more for MK Dons.

This news has come hand in hand with a deal with QPR and former Arsenal forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas who has also been signed on loan until the end of the season.
