That's probably the case which is why they seem to shop abroad most of the time. It's tough for any club going up and it is about to get a whole lot tougher. The more money available via tv etc, the more agents want to charge for their players.
I'm not a Tan fan as most of us will agree, but without a sponsor to dole out cash, it's almost a non-starter. Swansea are an exception but that comes at a price.

I think without a sponsor or expansion to their stadium they will drop further and further down until they get relegated ,they have punched above their weight for a few years now

So at what point do you make money in the premier league if you are not a player or agent ? What do they have to show for their time (probably a few more seasons yet) a new training ground, what was that about 10 million?
At least their season ticket prices reflect the local area in price, but it still could be cheaper.
Why do clubs run up huge debts to get into the premier league, when it doesn't get you any money in real terms when you get there.
I think we must have made a little profit when we were there then squandered by Ole in a mad 8 months.

You do realise we have spent five years in the premier league, winning a major trophy, played in the Europa league, beaten Man Utd three times on the trot, have an equal record of wins to losses ratio against Arsenal, beaten Valencia 0-3 at the Mestalla Stadium, plus beaten all of the top teams on at least more than one occasion, sometimes at their own gaff! That's memories in fans lives that will never be forgotten for the rest of their lives! That's what we have to show for it!![]()

Yes I fully understood what you posted the first time, so no need to run it by me again. So let me point it out to you in more laymans terms seeing as you didn't grasp my original reply. Being in the premier league for a club like Swansea City is not about making money is it. It's about being the best you can be for as long as you can be. We are not, or never will be some global brand/corporation (call it what you like), so our time in the sun is one that fans of the club will cherish for the rest of their lives. We've been there done it savoured it and loved every minute. When it ends it ends, we haven't pawned silverware as we had none. If your going down that route, then you borrowed family silverware then spunked it up the wall for a miserable 9 months!
